A future professor, doctor of technical sciences, an honorary builder of Moscow and an honored worker of the Republic of North Ossetia was born on November 3, 1952 in a city called Kirovabad (now Ganja), located in Azerbaijan. The father of the hero of the article was Alexander Behbudovich, and during his life he was distinguished by colossal physical strength and will. Having been captured by the Germans during World War II, he eventually refused to move to the United States, where he was actively invited by American soldiers after the end of hostilities.

Sergey Alexandrovich’s mother, Bavakan, was born in the family of a clergyman in the Yaroslavl region and had only primary education, but she was a very wise woman in life.

Sergey Hambartsumyan was not the only child in his family. In addition to him, his parents had three more daughters and one son.

After graduation, the elder brother of Sergei Gevork received state distribution in the city of Kafan (since 1990 it was renamed Kapan). Several ethnic groups that lived and peacefully coexisted on the territory of the city tightly intertwined here. In this locality, Sergey Hambartsumyan received a full secondary education in a Russian school, which was the strongest in the city in terms of the level of students' training. The young man was a diligent schoolboy, regularly also went in for sports and periodically went to various Olympiads. Serezha visited the volleyball, football, and basketball sections, and a little later, the chess club. It is the fascination with this game that he will subsequently save for life. And in the 7th grade, the young man firmly decided that when he grows up, he will certainly become a builder in order to bring benefit to his homeland, like his father, who has worked conscientiously all his life as a carpenter.

Higher education and first job

Sergey Hambartsumyan remained true to his dream and after graduation he became a student at Yerevan Polytechnic University. It was in this university that he received the coveted diploma of a civil engineer. And he began his career in the Armtransstroy trust. As Sergey Alexandrovich himself later noted, in that team he saw good prospects initially and quickly became a senior engineer. In addition, he received a distribution for the construction of a railway near Yerevan, where he became a foreman, took over the duties of a construction superintendent.

Service and personal happiness

Two years after this, Sergey Hambartsumyan was drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR, where he spent three months as a lieutenant in the construction battalion on the territory and the first block of the Inguri-hydroelectric station. After that, he was transferred to the construction of the unit of the Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant, where he spent the remainder of his service until his transfer to the reserve. There, a young man met his current and only wife, Lydia Kalistratovna.

Life on the "citizen"

Having given the obligatory debt to his homeland, Sergey Alexandrovich sets himself the serious goal of obtaining a candidate degree, moreover, in Moscow. He sees himself in graduate school of the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute and in 1981, together with his wife, moved to Belokamennaya. It is in the capital of the USSR that a couple gives birth to their first child - a daughter, Irina.

After the successful completion of graduate school, Sergey receives an offer to work in Lobny, namely in the head office in charge of monolithic housing construction. But the hero of the article decided to return to Armenia in order to fulfill his promise to his father. There, Ambartsumyan worked as deputy chief engineer at Armtransstroy, after which he began to teach at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute as an assistant professor.

When a devastating earthquake occurred in Armenia in 1988, a decision was made to create an architectural and construction institute, where Sergey Alexandrovich received the chair of the vice-rector.

A sharp turn in life

Ambartsumyan Sergey Aleksandrovich (the Monarch concern in his life will appear later) had bright prospects in a new place, however, as a result of the armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh and the economic blockade of Armenia, he was forced to move to Moscow in 1994 with his wife and three children. In the same period, a talented engineer creates his first business project called "ASMI" (architecture, construction, management, art). This organization was a subcontractor specializing in monolithic housing construction. Sergey’s extensive experience played a decisive role, and his company doubled the volume of work annually.

In 1996, the builder was invited to Mospromstroy JSC, where he managed to implement a colossal project - to reconstruct the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

Own business

In 1999, Sergey Alexandrovich registered the company “MonArch and S” and immediately even took on the most complex projects, such as the reconstruction of the Luzhniki’s big arena and the upper floors of the Russian Arbitration Court.

Such success did not go unnoticed, and the specialist is invited to take the post of vice president of Glavmoststroy. And in 2003, Sergey Alexandrovich Ambartsumyan, “Monarch” already approved as a concern, which today has become the absolute leader in individual monolithic construction of houses. Over the past two decades, the concern has implemented hundreds of major construction projects, while doing the job efficiently and on time.

In the period 2003-2007, Sergei Hambartsumyan, for whom Monarch remains a favorite business today, works as the first deputy head of the Moscow City Planning Policy Department.

Personal space

Sergey Alexandrovich is fond of chess, backgammon and table tennis, and also respects the work of Vladimir Vysotsky. In addition, Hambardzumyan is a holder of the Order of Honor and a laureate of the national award “Russian of the Year” in 2004.
