Soslan Andiev: career and biography

The last decade, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania has been actively developing in the field of sports and physical education. Childhood and family

Soslan Andiev was born on April 21, 1952 in Vladikavkaz. His father's name was Andiev Petr Akhmetovich, his mother was Andieva Natalya Danilovna. Soslan is married, his wife's name is Lina Vladimirovna. Four children were born in his family: Zarina, Maria, Lina and George.

From time immemorial, many heroes are born on Ossetian soil. Soslanโ€™s father, Pyotr Andiev, who weighed one hundred thirty-six kilograms with a height of two meters eighteen centimeters, was also a strongman. He was fond of wrestling and was the champion of the North Caucasus in this sport.

Shakhmuradov, who took a promising athlete to the world championship. The competition took place in Tehran, where Soslan was able to become a world champion. In 1974, Andiev received a diploma from the Gorsky Agricultural Institute. He had the opportunity to defend his dissertation, but Soslan decided not to waste time on it, devoting him to sports. And a year later he began working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a sports inspector, where he worked until 1989.

Soslan Andiev is a wrestler who, in 1974, came out as the four-time champion of the Soviet Union on the Olympic carpet of the Canadian Montreal. At this championship he took a gold medal, defeating the famous wrestler Roland Gerke from Germany.

At the Olympic Games in Moscow, he was able to take another gold medal, becoming a two-time champion. In 1984, Soslan was preparing to speak at the Los Angeles Olympics, but the Soviet delegation did not participate in these competitions.

Coaching career

Soslan Andiev, whose biography is described in this article, in 1985 headed the Soviet freestyle wrestling team. As a coach, he was able to do a lot to maintain the good traditions of the team. Work in the new field was successful, the Soviet wrestling school continued to prove its superiority in the world. In 1989, Soslan was offered to take the post of chairman of the State Sports Committee of North Ossetia, he agreed.
