JSC "Shadrinsk Auto Aggregate Plant": history, description, products

Shadrinsk Auto Aggregate Plant OJSC (ShAAZ) is the leading manufacturer of automobile radiators and coolers in the Russian Federation. Since 2014, it has been modernizing diesel locomotives. Located in the district center of Shadrinsk, Kurgan region. In 1999, it entered the structure of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company.

On the roads of war

The fate of the Shadrinsk auto-aggregate plant, like most Ural enterprises, is connected with the war. In the fall of 1941, a part of the equipment of the capital's factories arrived in the town of Shadrinsk: Stalin, carburetor and auxiliary equipment. Machines, equipment, workers and their families arrived here in trains.

In December 1941, the legendary head of the Moscow Automobile Plant I.A. Likhachev signed an order according to which branch No. 5 was set aside as an independent enterprise. This date was the birthday of the Shadrinsk Auto Aggregate Plant.

The city helped factory workers settle in a new place. Production workshops were located in all suitable areas. The radiator-press section occupied the body of the weaving factory and already in March began production of auto aggregates. Tool and repair shops were located on the territory of the city printing house. Carburetor and reinforcement - in the garrison club.

To ensure uninterrupted production, the city power station was transferred to ShAAZ. Energy was primarily supplied to the workshops, and the population was serviced according to the residual principle.

Mutual assistance

When the last volleys of war died out, the country returned to peaceful life. It is time for the Shadrinsk Automobile Unit Plant to repay debts to the city. The forces of factory workers erected apartment buildings, kindergartens, cultural and sports facilities.

Experts estimate that over the past years, the company commissioned more than 130,000 m 2 of comfortable housing, 4 dormitories, 8 kindergartens. A school, an auto-mechanical college, and recreational facilities have been erected. The Shadrinsky Palace of Culture is also built at the expense of the plant, as is the Torpedo Stadium.

Progressive development

In the 70s, the Shadrinsk Automobile Aggregate Plant (ShAAZ) became one of the “subcontractors” of the Kama Automobile Plant. Radiators for KamAZ trucks were manufactured on American Intertex equipment. Shadrinsk products passed state certification for the “Quality Mark”. In the 70-80s, new workshops were erected, production expanded. For work, only modern equipment was purchased at that time.

Ever since then, the respect for the man of work has been preserved to this day. Most of the current leaders began their journey with simple factory workers: workers, craftsmen, engineers.

The company has wellness programs, the plant has maintained a dispensary and a children's camp.

At the turn of the millennium, when many companies had sunk into oblivion, Shaaz managed to resist the pressure of a market economy of the 90s. A significant event was the entry into a powerful industrial holding - the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company. This allowed us to get out of a difficult financial situation, find resources for development, and ultimately master new types of products that are in demand.

Specialization

Today, the Shadrinsk Auto Aggregate Plant maintains a strong position in the domestic auto parts market. The production of automotive radiators has been a priority for many years. Every year, technologies are improved, new ideas are introduced, modern materials are applied. Surprisingly, copper-brass heat exchangers manufactured by traditional technology are still in demand. This is due to the large number of relatively old equipment that uses copper brazed radiators.

The development of the Cuprobraise technology in the 2000s was a new qualitative stage. Modern copper-brass heat exchangers have proven themselves on large-sized equipment and are in great demand among Russian manufacturers of trucks, buses and their foreign colleagues.

A promising area has shown itself aluminum radiators. Having felt the interest of the market, ShAAZ as soon as possible mastered the best in the world Nokolok technology for their production. The first heat exchangers of this type came out in 2009.

The range of manufactured units is expanding annually. In 2013, aluminum products were certified according to the international standard ISO / TS 16949.

Diversification

Economic realities require diversification of production. In 2013, a new section on deep modernization of diesel locomotives was launched at ShAAZ. Modern high-tech production has proven to be in demand by large enterprises located primarily in the structure of UMMC.

According to conservative estimates, more than 200 shunting diesel locomotives actively used at metallurgical enterprises need updating. The first locomotive was repaired already in July 2014, and a year later 20 units of railway transport were modernized.
