It all began at the dawn of the 20th century. In 1902, a young American from Kansas, being a blacksmith's apprentice and apprentice, invented and perfected a completely new technology. Thanks to his method of heat treatment, knife blades acquired unique properties and were of the highest quality. At first, the young inventor made his knives in the premises of the old workshop, and the raw materials for them were the usual old, outdated files. However, the talent and skill of the author more than compensated for all the temporary difficulties of the production process. The real popularity of products that came out of the hands of Hoyt Buck came with the outbreak of World War II. The military appreciated all the advantages of these knives, their extraordinary strength and reliability.
Surname affair
Having made a family, Buck moved with his family to the state of California in 1947, where he founded HH Buck & Son, a Buck knife manufacturing company. As the name implies, his partner and assistant in this matter was the eldest son Alfred. It was with him that his father shared all the subtleties and wisdom of his innovative technology. When two years later, Hoyt Buck was gone, Alfred continued his father’s work alone.
