The beginning of the sports path
Emil Galimov was born on May 9, 1992 in the city of Nizhnekamsk. In childhood, the boy had many hobbies. He took piano lessons, and then for a long time was engaged in martial arts. In this sport, he even became the winner of children's tournaments. But once Emil and his mother passed near the ice sports palace and suddenly decided to go into it and look at the young guys. The boy liked the classes, and he decided that he would engage in professional hockey. At first, Galimov wanted to play on the goalkeeper position. But his father insisted that he become an attacker and score goals. The athlete has an older brother who also plays hockey professionally. Emil began his journey in this sport in the 2009-2010 season by signing a contract with the Nizhnekamsk team Reactor, which plays in the MHL. In his first season of the game for this youth club, Emil Galimov spent 32 games and scored 10 points. The following year, this striker scored 18 points in 27 games.
Professional career
Emil’s game was marked by the coaching staff of the Neftyanik main team, and in the 2010–2011 season he made his debut in the KHL. In his first season in 18 games he scored only 2 points. Due to poor statistics, Galimov began his next season with the youth team again. After Emil, they nevertheless gave a chance to gain a foothold in the main team of Neftekhimik. But for 8 matches, he did not score a single point. The club management did not like the game of this young striker, and Emil decided to leave his native club.
Transition to Lokomotiv
On September 7, 2011, a terrible tragedy occurred in Yaroslavl. The entire basic structure of the hockey club Lokomotiv crashed in a plane crash. The whole world sympathized with the native athletes. The club management decided that in the year of the tragedy the team will play in the major league. A new club was created. Mostly it was played by young players. The management of Lokomotiv contacted Galimov and invited him to the club. They had long-term plans for him. In Nizhnekamsk, Galimov was not much appreciated, so this striker decided to move to Yaroslavl. Emil Galimov, having arrived in the new team, played 8 matches in the MHL. Earlier in the “Locomotive” played the namesake Alexander Galimov. This hockey player did a lot for the team, and also was actively involved in charity work. After the crash, he survived and until the last fought for his life. The whole country supported him. But Alexander Galimov died in the hospital. Fans of the Yaroslavl team believe that the young Emil Galimov will reach the same high level of the game. Emil is well acquainted with Alexander's parents. Debut for the main team

International career
