The chisel plow (IF) is a mounted tool of a rather complicated design, designed for deep subsurface loosening of the soil. The width of the soil, and therefore the processing performance when using this tool increases by 1.8 times. Loosen the soil using a chisel plow to a depth of 45 cm.
Design advantages
The width of the strip when using this gun can reach up to 12 meters. Such plows are equipped with spring struts. Therefore, when using this tool, oscillations are created that provide additional loosening of the soil. Since each chisel plow stand is mounted on shock absorbers, among other things, the possibility of equipment breakdown, for example, in case of accidental collision with an obstacle, is excluded.
Most inverter models are complemented by a special gear or tubular roller. These plow construction elements are intended for breaking large lumps remaining after plowing and for leveling the field surface . It is not too deep to treat the skating rink - about 20 cm. This leads to the fact that even with a general moisture deficit, its runoff from the fields is significantly increased. A cushion is formed for several years under the weight of conventional plows. When using the inverter, since in this case the loosening is very deep, this compaction is very quickly destroyed (on some types of soils it goes much deeper). This feature, of course, can also be attributed to the advantages of chisel plows.
What happens to the soil when plowing
It is recommended to use a chisel plow in combination with a PM disc harrow . When plowing using these two tools in the soil, the most favorable conditions are created for the accumulation of spring moisture. The fact is that at a depth of 15-20 cm in the ground, in this case, the effect of cracking occurs. In this case, the lower layers (up to 50 cm) are partially shifted and loosened. IF plowing is carried out after one pass of the harrow, immediately after harvesting the predecessor.
Scope of use
IF plows are used mainly on steam fields (including on slopes) when cultivating crops. You can use them on any soil, except rocky, in all agroclimatic zones. It is allowed to plow using such a plow on soils subject to wind and water erosion.
In addition to cereal fields, the chisel plow can be used for deep soil cultivation in orchards and vineyards (between rows). Also, this attachment is often used to rejuvenate meadows and pastures or to improve the drainage properties of the soil.

FC-2,3 and 4 models are used most often in agriculture. However, more productive chisel plows can also be used for tillage. The working width of some models can be 12 m. But the depth of plowing is usually less than 23-25 cm.

According to the recommendations of manufacturers, a chisel plow that plows to a depth of 45 cm can be hung on equipment with a capacity of at least 150 l / s. Therefore, such models are most often operated with tractors T-150, MTZ 1523, 1822, 2022, etc.
Of course, with a less powerful technique, you can use a chisel plow. MTZ 1221 "Belarus" (130 l / s), for example, copes with it very well. However, in this case, an inverter is mounted on the tractor, plowing to a depth of no more than 23-25 cm with a working width of 2.4-2.6 m. Also, chisel plows can be shock-absorbed with KhTZ-150K-09, VT-150D, New Holland TM 140 ”,“ John Deere 7730 ”and almost any other tractor models with a capacity of 80 l / s domestic or imported.

Plowing using an inverter is completely straightforward. Before starting work, the tractor operator only needs to release the control lever to the free position. As a result, the plow will fall to the ground under its own weight. When plowing, the working body of the inverter is additionally supported by wheels. In some cases, the latter are made of metal. But most often, IF plows are supplemented by conventional support wheels with a tire and a camera. Their position, among other things, determines the depth of plowing. Turn at the end of the furrow according to the instructions should be made only after the plow is moved to the transport position.
