Raising rabbits is a very profitable and promising area of ​​animal husbandry. With modern methods of intensive cultivation, a special place is occupied by the feed base. Compound feed

A mixture of plant materials, which contains the necessary set of trace elements and vitamins for a specific type of animal, is called compound feed. The inclusion of such universal food in the diet provides not only complete and proper feeding, but also significantly affects the volume of the final product (weight gain or milk yield).

Composition

The composition of the granulated feed for rabbits can be different, but the main ingredients include:

• hay;
• herbal flour;
• oilcake (sunflower);
• corn;
• fodder yeast ;

• table salt;
• mineral and vitamin complex.

In percentage terms, the mixture is as follows:

1. Cereals make up approximately 30-45% of the total mixture volume. As a rule, it is corn, wheat, oats, barley.
2. In second place are protein-rich components. These include sunflower cake, wheat bran, soybean meal, yeast, meat and bone meal.

Among the variety of rabbit breeds (there are more than 60 of them), preference is given to early ripening breeds (California, New Zealand, Belgian flanders, white and black giants). A rabbit of this breed in 2-2.5 years can give 10-12 scent. Fattening of young animals lasts only 2.5 months, and a full-fledged carcass is ready for sale. Finished products are stored in a cool, dry place with low humidity. Do not make large stocks. The volume should not exceed the monthly needs of the economy. It is better to feed freshly prepared food. There is less risk of damage to fungal diseases and there is an opportunity to diversify the diet.

Another plus - you can change the feed for rabbits. The composition is supplemented with new ingredients or emphasis is placed on one of them. Or the whole composition is adjusted due to changes in the physiological state of the livestock (pregnancy of rabbits or lactation).

Although the production process is not complicated, it requires some equipment:

• granulator (for the production of granular feed);
• grain crushers;
• hay chopper.

This kit is for direct pellet preparation only. Moreover, thanks to interchangeable nozzles, their size can be adjusted. For rabbits, smaller pellets are preferred. With a large number of rabbits, a motokosa and a hay dryer will not interfere. It will help out its own unit for pressing sunflower (double benefit: there will be oil and meal for rabbits).

There is no single universal recipe. Everyone selects the composition of feed for rabbits. Do it yourself made from high-quality components, properly dried - this is the best option (cheaper and more reliable than buying from manufacturers).
