Dmitry was born in 1987 on March 19 in the Leningrad Region (the city of Sosnovy Bor). It should be noted that his hometown is famous for its strong biathlon school. The boy began to engage in this sport from the age of 8. His first coach was Yuri Parfyonov.

At first, Dmitry liked just to shoot, but over time he began to get used to skiing and in the end realized that this was his sport.

At first, the young athlete did not really shine with results, speaking during the junior period. In 2005, Malyshko participated in the youth world championship in Kontiolahti. In these competitions, he twice hit the top 10 biathletes in the individual sprint race.

Coach Dmitry Kucherov noticed the future champion at the 2008 Youth Winter Spartakiad in the city of Saransk, where Dmitry Malyshko won a bronze medal. Before the transition of the athlete to the adult team, Kucherov was engaged with him.

At that time, in 2008, in connection with problems in financing in the Biathlon Federation, Malyshko decided to leave the sport, having stopped training. After which he began to work in a bank. However, the coaches Kucherov and Vasiliev settled financial issues, and Dmitry returned to the sport.

For the first time he entered the IBU Cup stages in 2009-2010. in the Russian team. At these competitions, the athlete made his debut in November 2009, taking part in the sprint race of the 1st stage of the Cup in the Swedish city of Idre. As a result, he became the 51st. And already at the end of the season he won the silver medal of the European Championship in the relay race. In the season, in the overall classification, he took 28th place.

In February, he began training again.

At the IBU Cup 2011-2012 the athlete took the first gold in international sprint competitions. In just one season of 2011-2012. Dmitry at the KM 9 times ended up in the top ten (personal races).

Dmitry Malyshko is a biathlete belonging to the type of “high-speed” athletes. Shooting is worse for him than running. He very often entered the KM in terms of running speed in the top ten. Particularly different is the passage of the last lap, where he can successfully fight with the most eminent masters: Martin Fourcade, Emil Swensen. Most of it is firing. And he works a lot on this. Over the past seasons there has been an improvement in statistics in this direction.

Successes of recent years

The best in terms of success in an athlete’s sports career was the 2012-2013 season: in personal races, two first places (in Oberhof) and two second places (in Ruhpolding, Hochfilzen); prize-winning places in relay races (including the first in Oberhof and Sochi).

Season 2013-2014 was worse. Dmitry Malyshko did not climb the podium, but took 11th place in the overall standings.

The years 2014-2015 were less successful. In the overall classification of this season Malyshko took 31 place. However, there are joyful moments. Personal life

He understands that sooner or later a sports career will end and he will have to start a different life already as a family man, and his second education will help him achieve his future goals.
