Restaurant Julia Vysotsky in Moscow: photos and reviews

Restaurant-bar with a unique name "Yornik" began its work in 2011. Yulia Vysotskaya’s restaurant in Moscow opened at the crossroads of Brestskaya and B. Gruzinskaya streets - and this is no accident: this area is considered the most successful for opening gastronomic establishments. The chef invited by Julia from London hosts the kitchen of the restaurant. Chef Daniel Fippard has extensive experience in English and American institutions. Chef's motto: "Cooking is simple, but creative." The Russian actress did not lose her choice of the head of the restaurant - it turned out to be so good that now he simultaneously leads two restaurants: the restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya on Mira Avenue and the restaurant on Bolshaya Gruzinskaya.

What is "Yornik"?

According to Ozhegov’s interpretation, “Yornik” is the one who likes to joke, curse. This is a mischievous person. It is no coincidence that the author of culinary masterpieces chose such a name for his restaurant: among the actress’s many friends, there are a lot of such “erniks”. Yes, and the walls of the restaurant are decorated with portraits of the famous "erniks": F. Bacon, W. Burroughs, V. Mayakovsky, G. Miller, E. Ionesco and others.

The restaurant is open daily from 12 noon to 12 noon. The restaurant serves European as well as author's cuisine. The prices here are affordable: the average bill is about 1,500 rubles.

Restaurant Location

The area in which the restaurant is located is considered the most successful for the opening of gastronomic establishments: there are many restaurants around, and very good ones. The competition here is incredible! However, the restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya on Belorusskaya is not lost in such intense competition: people know and populate this restaurant, many come here from the other end of the city to eat and have a great time.

The address at which the restaurant is located: st. B. Gruzinskaya, house 69 (near the metro station "Belorusskaya").

The restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya on Bolshaya Gruzinskaya Street is actually located practically on Tverskaya Street, namely, behind the building in which Bechetle and Starbucks coffee shop are located .

Many say that the restaurant has a slight drawback - its sign. If a person does not initially know where the restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya is located, then he will look for it for a very, very long time.

Restaurant Design

Yulia Vysotsky's restaurant in Moscow is decorated in an American pre-war vintage style. Ebony and bronze frames of furniture prevail here. Someone thinks that it is too gloomy here, but most are delighted with this idea of decorating a Moscow restaurant.

The space here is small: there are enough seats for 50 people, which, it would seem, should make people sit tightly to each other (as they say, "elbow to elbow"). However, the tables here are so well arranged that there is absolutely no feeling of "crowding."

As mentioned earlier, the creators of the restaurant decided to give their preference to the famous representatives of juggling: on the walls are photographs of celebrities personally selected by Konchalovsky. Here you can see Vladimir Mayakovsky, and William Burroughs, and Jean Genet, and Anton Chekhov, and Ferdinand Selin, and many other famous yerniks.

Restaurant menu

The restaurant menu is small. There are only three sections: snacks, hot dishes and desserts. Naturally, it was developed under the close supervision of the restaurant owner chef Daniel Fippard. Guests are surprised at such affordable prices for dishes: here you can order tuna tartare for just 510 rubles, beetroot soup for 270 rubles, buckwheat from chanterelles for 450 rubles, and dumplings on a pillow from cabbage will cost just 420 rubles. Guests note the incredible taste of the coffee served.

Beverages

The restaurant presents exclusively non-alcoholic drinks, as the restaurant does not have a license to sell alcohol. Someone mockingly says that the restaurant does not have a license for one simple reason: the owners opened the restaurant in a hurry, and they absolutely did not have time to do this kind of business. However, both the restaurant owners and its waiters react quite calmly to such comments. In addition, according to the latest data, it became known that the restaurant will nevertheless acquire a license in the near future.

Food

The menu in this institution is quite small. Actually, this is very good. This means that the restaurant has a small number of preparations, and fresh ingredients are used to prepare the dishes.

Of all the dishes in the restaurant, there are several of the most popular:

  • Beetroot soup served with rye bread. Moreover, the presentation of the dish is quite interesting: pickled cucumbers, sliced in neat cubes, are placed on the bottom of the plate, then beets are sliced in circles, a spoon of sour cream is added on top, on which a rye bread chip is fixed. When serving, this bread is poured with beetroot puree.
  • Terrine made from pork and chicken, served with yogurt and sweet and sour sauce. The dish is unique: in contrast to the traditional jellied meat, there is more meat than jelly. The dish is decorated with pickled vegetables and chervil leaves.
  • Smoked fish risotto served with greens (chives and parsley) and bottarga.
  • Dessert is a combination of ginger ice cream and a warm muffin served with pistachios and slices of watermelon and melon. It should be noted that this dish "from the chef" is not on the menu - it is prepared exclusively to order.

Be sure to highlight the local bread, which is baked here on their own, and not run after him to a nearby store. It is prepared from unbleached flour, on a special sourdough. Guests say it is incredibly tasty.

Service

The restaurant staff are surprisingly timid. The waiters are not used to such an invasion of visitors. However, they know their job: they carefully listen to any requests from guests and try to fulfill them as quickly as possible. Even though the restaurant does not have a license to sell alcoholic beverages, the waiters react quite calmly to such jokes by the guests. Some even laugh it off, offering to "send a messenger to a nearby store" for alcohol, which, the waiters promise, will not be included in the bill.

Reviews

The guests really loved the Yornik restaurant as much as the restaurant of Yulia Vysotskaya on Prospekt Mira: reviews of both restaurants are mostly positive. Even a dim sign and a small restaurant hall cannot spoil the impression that guests have after visiting this place: guests celebrate incredibly tasty and at the same time inexpensive food, as well as a calm and great atmosphere (which is in contrast to Yulina's accepted "fuss"). Again, guests also note the incredible coffee that is brewed here.

The restaurant is known and loved by many. Such famous representatives of pop as Alla Pugacheva, Maxim Galkin, Kristina Orbakaite and many others came to congratulate the Russian actress on the opening of the restaurant.

By the way, if someone still thinks that Julia Vysotskaya herself is cooking, how she successfully does it in front of a photo and television camera, then he will be disappointed. All dishes are prepared without the participation of the actress: here she is the mistress. Guests note a small amount of servings, but the original presentation. Yes, indeed, the chef of the Yornik restaurant follows his motto: "Cooking is simple, but creative." It is Daniel Fippard who is considered the only Englishman who decided on a big risky step: he decided to rethink the Belarusian cuisine and remake the dishes in his own way. And he was not mistaken: the restaurant is a stunning success among Muscovites and visitors.
