Today, almost everywhere and constantly used a variety of technological processes. Naturally, sometimes emergency situations arise when immediate intervention is required. For such cases, people have developed a variety of devices, and one of them is a gas shutoff valve.
Device purpose
The described valve is designed to immediately disconnect the device, part of the pipeline or the entire system in case of an emergency.
An electromagnetic gas shut-off valve, which is installed both in a gas and in an aqueous medium, is triggered due to exposure to external energy sources. This is what is the main difference from all other protective and locking types of valves. The device is brought into operation by a number of sensors, and in addition, it can be controlled remotely. As for the areas of application of gas shutoff valves, there are a lot of them. They are successfully used in the medical and food industries, have shown themselves well in the energy sector, as well as in everyday life.
You can even highlight some designs and devices that cannot function normally without such cutoffs.
Firstly, this includes all heating and water supply systems. In this case, the valve will block the flow of working fluid in the event of an accident. Secondly, any types of devices in which the supply of fuel (water, gas or petroleum products) is carried out automatically. The air supply system also does not do without gas shutoff valves. In agriculture, they are actively used in the arrangement of irrigation systems.
If we talk only about the electromagnetic shut-off valve, then it is most often used in the energy industry.
Instrument design
As for the design of the gas shutoff valve, it is an electromechanical device, which is controlled through electric current. Current flows through a special magnet, thereby creating an electromagnetic field. It is because of the influence of the field that the device opens or closes.
If you pay attention to the same valves for water, then there is one or several springs. And the main acting element is an electric or pneumatic drive.
Varieties
The gas shutoff valve has several varieties that differ in principle. Two types are distinguished: normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC). The principle of operation of BUT is quite simple. If there is no voltage, the valve will remain open all the time. The difference between the NC valve is that the absence of voltage will, on the contrary, block the valve. After that you will have to open it manually.
Both of these devices are direct-acting solenoid valves. This means that closure will occur due to the action of an electromagnet, and clipping of the flow of the working medium will be noted on both sides of the pipeline.
However, such devices have a significant drawback, which lies in the fact that the working range of pressures and diameters is quite small.
Electromagnetic device for gas
It is worth saying that the device can be single-seat or two-seat. In addition, gas shutoff valves with signaling devices can be of either the first or second type. The presence of an alarm in the case of gas is especially important, since it is necessary not only to shut off the system, but also to inform the operator that a leak has occurred.
As for the single-seat valve, it cuts off the flow of the working medium from only one side. Most often, the dimensions of such valves will not exceed 50 mm. The two-seat device allows you to let the gas flow in two directions at once, but at the same time it is less tight than a single-seat.
It is also worth paying attention to the fact that it is very important to choose the right device. If an electromagnetic design is chosen, then it must clearly correspond to its scope in its characteristics. It is important to pay attention to the coincidence not only in the transported working medium, but also in the pressure in the pipeline, as well as in the temperature of the medium. In addition, since this is a safety feature, the speed of its response in emergency cases should be as fast as possible.
KEI valve
KEI-1-20 pulse electromagnetic gas shutoff valves are designed to automatically cut off the gas supply. The process takes place in internal gas pipelines, as well as in gas equipment, and a message about excessive gas contamination will serve as a signal for operation. For this, such devices can be directly connected to signaling devices, for example, to SGB-1, as well as to other units, which during operation will generate an output pulsed electrical signal.
