We perceive people differently. And at first glance it is impossible to determine the nature of a person, especially if he is changeable. Each individual is unique, has his own character. Today we will talk about the cycloid type of personality, labile and much more.
First about accentuations
Classifications of character accentuations were presented by A.E. Lichko and K. Leonhard. The typology of the first consisted of 11 personality types, each of which has special manifestations observed in adolescence. He also distinguished types:
- Explicit accentuation. This is when the character traits of a person are expressed throughout life.
- And hidden. Sharp characteristics are manifested in difficult conditions and situations.
Leonard identified 12 species, some of which coincide with the Lichko classification. Divided into the following groups:
- Emotionality
- Character.
- The personal level.
He studied the typology of adult characters.
Causes of accentuation
Accentuated temper is formed and developed under the influence of many factors. These include a lack of communication with peers and parents. The main reason is heredity. The appearance of acute character traits of a child is affected by the environment (family and friends), the wrong parenting style (excessive custody or lack of attention, love and care). All this becomes the reason for the lack of communication. Low self-esteem, dissatisfaction with needs, physical disabilities and psychological illnesses can also lead to accentuations. And now we begin to discuss the cycloid type of personality.
Find out who cyclotimics are
These are people whose mood changes very often, regardless of external factors. The cycloid type of personality is an accentuation of character in which the emotional state of a person changes dramatically and for no reason. Suddenly, euphoria can be replaced by sadness. Moreover, cyclothymic itself does not know why this is happening. Let's talk about the cycloid type of accentuation.
Character Features
Already in early childhood, such people can be recognized by their inherent hyperthyroidism. They are active, too independent, strive to be leaders, hardworking, friendly, friendly, which bribes the interlocutor from the first minute of communication. Very talkative, but at the same time overly charming. Thanks to emotionality and gestures, even the simplest story can be presented colorfully and richly, adding a humorous zest.
They easily adapt in a new circle, therefore they can easily socialize. They quickly find a common language with others. But there are some disadvantages, of course:
- Instability of character.
- Inconstancy. Often change hobbies, interests.
- Indiscrimination, for example, in the choice of friends, why and fall into bad companies.
It is also difficult for the owners of the cycloid type to understand the state of mind, not that of those around them.
The development of cyclothymics
It is almost impossible to predict or influence the development of an accentuation of the nature of the cycloid type of personality in early childhood. Behavior and emotionality, although they may need to be adjusted, do not go beyond the boundaries of generally accepted norms and rules in society. An individual can independently control and correct them.
The cycloid type of personality, like others, is formed and developed under the influence of many external factors, such as:
- Genetic predisposition.
- Parenting and others.
Cyclotymists begin to demonstrate their character in childhood, while in adolescence, it becomes more pronounced. This is a quick change of mood, for example, from depression to euphoria.
More on adolescence
It is during this period that the first large fragment of low mood appears in children. In girls, for example, this phenomenon may coincide with the onset of menstruation. Irritability appears, interest in learning, games and communication with peers disappears, fatigue occurs.
In a period of decline in mood, adolescents should not be interrogated with questions, as they may respond rudely. They themselves do not like it, as previously they were completely different and found a common language with their parents.
Development reasons
They are not clearly indicated, but there are a number of factors that can aggravate the development of the cycloid type of personality and lead to psychological pathologies. Consider them:
- These are psychological deviations of relatives.
- Brain damage (trauma) and infections accompanied by fever and intoxication.
- The use of toxic substances.
And, of course, psychologically trauma. This is a dangerous moment when, simultaneously with the phase of bad mood, a psychological traumatic situation or circumstance coincides. This only exacerbates the depressed state, which can lead to an attempted suicide.
Let's talk about the labile-cycloid type of personality
In adolescence, two types of accentuation can occur:
- Typical.
- And labile cycloids.
Typical, as a rule, in childhood are no different from ordinary children, rather even resemble hyperthyms. In adolescence, an initial subdepressive phase occurs. There is a tendency to apathy and irritability. There is lethargy and weakness. During this period, adolescents are especially vulnerable, complaints from parents and others, failures can lead to deep depression, psychological trauma and even suicidal attempts. In typical cycloids, phases last from 2 to 3 weeks.
In labile cycloids, the phases are much shorter - up to several days. Moreover, during a period of decline in mood, they are not marked by lethargy, not a loss of strength and dissatisfaction, but rather a slight sadness. And unlike the labile type, due to minor events, the mood does not change dramatically.
Teenage behavioral reactions of both types are mild. There is instability in hobbies. Since self-esteem is formed gradually, due to lack of experience, it is still inaccurate.
Labile personality type
In childhood, such individuals, as a rule, do not stand out among others. Only units have neurotic reactions. The main feature is the extreme variability of the emotional state. If the mood changes extremely abruptly, and the reason for this is a completely insignificant reason, the formation of a labile personality type is evident. In this case, the emotional state will be accompanied by deep feelings, poor appetite and sleep, the desire to be alone or, conversely, rush into a noisy company and so on.
Representatives of this type of personality are characterized by sensuality, true friendship. They are capable of sincere affection for family people, if the latter reciprocate (love and care), even despite the often repeated minor quarrels.
Labile teens like praise, various signs of attention, encouragement. But censure, criticism, condemnation they endure hard, deeply worrying, which leads to despondency. Teenagers of this type of personality are familiar with the peculiarities of their character, they know that they belong to “people of mood”, everything depends on the latter. They invite others to perceive them as they are.
Talk about hyperthymic type
A hypertensive type of accentuation is characterized by an active lifestyle, high mood, and a thirst for communication. Since childhood, hyperthyms are independent, easily adaptable in a new environment. Very sociable, even talkative, mischievous, prone to pranks and hooliganism. They strive for leadership, tireless, able to make a favorable impression on others. They do not like loneliness and never finish large-scale affairs.
They cannot stand monotony, monotonous labor, idleness. Easily change hobbies, hobbies, adore risk. Failures can adversely affect hyperthyms, but not for long. They are easily restored and return to their usual emotional state. They can apologize without difficulty.
The hyperthymno-cycloid type can only occur in childhood when surface activity, sociability, and high spirits are observed. In their life, both stunning ups and sudden drops are possible. But they always find a way out of the situation, although they are unreliable in affiliate business.
So, in our article we learned about the cycloid type of personality, characteristics of character and behavior, and also examined the labile and hyperthymic types.
