The poet Sergei Polikarpov wrote these lines in memory of his departed colleague, writer and poet Dmitry Blinsky. Today, these words are relevant in relation to the author himself. Sergei Polikarpov was not famous throughout the vast USSR, and now his creations are not known to everyone, but his work is permeated with sincerity, which cannot but bribe the reader.
The biography of the poet
Sergey was born in the village of Kuzminki, Ukhtomsky District in 1932. The war that he survived remained in his memory forever, as well as in the memory of other children of the war years. His pen belongs to lines that reflect all the pain from a lost childhood.

The boy was born into a family of workers and he initially followed in the footsteps of his parents, graduating from the Moscow College of the Ministry of Ferrous Metallurgy in 1952, then - the Zhytomyr Anti-aircraft Artillery School. After graduating from the army, Sergei realized that he wanted to connect his life with literature, and entered the Moscow Literary Institute. Gorky. Many talented people studied here, including Rozhdestvensky, Yevtushenko and other famous personalities who became poets, writers, critics. Sergei Polikarpov graduated from the institute in 1963.
Creative way of the poet
Sergey has been published since 1950. He wrote many poems, poems, books. His creations were published in Fiction, a publishing house that recognized far from all writers and poets. Cooperation with him in itself was the highest assessment of the talent of Sergei Polikarpov. He linked his whole life with literature and poetry, was a member of the House of Writers, worked in magazines, translated from different languages of the peoples of the CCCP (Uzbek, Kazakh, Ossetian) literary works. He wrote a whole list of books, among which:

Not only a talented poet, but also a worthy person, Sergey never criticized his colleagues, did not recognize gossip. Slender, like a gymnast, with a strong-willed chin, he always stood with dignity and pride. The poet Sergei Polikarpov was also a wonderful father - he really loved his little son and tried to devote a lot of time to him.

After the release of the film “Ilyich’s Outpost”, the country recognized many names that are still known to everyone, even to the untrained man in poetry: Rozhdestvensky, Akhmadullin, Yevtushenko, Kazakov, Voznesensky and many others. These are people whose talent was recognized by the whole USSR precisely thanks to the released film. It was a kind of poets advertisement, which gave them the opportunity to become famous, to declare themselves throughout the USSR. However, the premiere of the picture brought bitter disappointment to another talented poet, whose potential was in no way inferior to any of the above people - the poet Sergei Polikarpov.
Poetic evenings, which became the basis of the film, were a kind of competition of poets. They were extremely successful, young talents received their share of enthusiasm and applause, did not boo anyone, which happened at such evenings. When Sergey came out and read several of his poems, the audience exploded enthusiastically, passionately, strongly. Perhaps, none of the poets who spoke earlier could have had such success (and Sergei Polikarpov recited his poems as one of the last). His talent was admired, autographs were taken from him and for a long time they did not want to leave the stage, they asked to read more and more. It was an undoubted, pure success.
And all the worse was the realization that the creators of the film simply cut Sergei out of the film, sharing the applause that he received among other poets. Sergei was unpleasantly impressed, because he was so impatiently waiting for the film to finally be released.
Conclusion
However, life's hardships and injustice did not force Sergei Polikarpov to break with poetry, because he lived with it and did not get tired of creating, although sometimes it experienced creative recessions. He devoted his whole life to her and wrote until his death, which came to him in 1988. The poet died in Moscow, where he was buried, but his work continues to live in the memory and hearts of readers.
