Biography
Fedor Klimov was born in September 1990 in Leningrad. The mother of the future Olympic champion worked as a coach at the local school of figure skating, so it is not surprising that from the age of four the boy began to study in this section too.
Until the age of 16, Klimov was a loner, and successfully performing at various children's and youth competitions. In addition to victories at the stages of the Cup of Russia, he was included in the national team (season 2007/2008).
In parallel with training and competition, the young skater managed to study well at school, which he graduated with a silver medal.
Sports career
Since 2007, Fedor Klimov is a figure skater in pair skating. At first, Maria Chashchina was his partner, but this duet did not achieve great results. Then Klimov rode along with Alexandra Malakhova. They twice became winners at the stages of the Cup of Russia.
In February 2009, Ksenia's new partner was Ksenia Stolbova, and this duo soon became one of the most powerful in the world of figure skating. Already in the first joint season they win the junior championship of Russia and take third place in the youth world championship.
But the couple was not going to stop there. In 2010, the Klimov / Stolbov duet again won the junior national championship, as well as two stages of the Grand Prix. At the youth world championship, they became the second.
2011 brought new titles to the skaters. Thanks to the refusal of the Smirnov / Kawaguchi couple to speak at the European Championships, Fedor Klimov and his partner got the right to represent their country at this adult level. The debut was more than successful - the duo won the bronze medals of the continental championship. In addition, the couple became the second in the championship of Russia.
The pre-Olympic season Fedor Klimov and Ksenia Stolbova began with a new coach - Nina Moser. Preparations for the home games took place in an enhanced mode, because their pair had high hopes.
Triumphal home Olympics
At the home Olympics in Sochi, the couple Fedor Klimov / Ksenia Stolbova did not disappoint the hopes of all Russian fans. They perfectly skated a free program, showing the best result among all participants. This allowed them to add 10 points to the piggy bank of the Russian team, which eventually became the winner of the Olympics in team competitions. In the individual competition, the couple won silver medals.
After the Olympics, the star duo did not slow down. They invited the new director Nikolai Morozov, who helped Klimov and Stolbova make their numbers more spectacular and technically complex.
The skaters started the season very successfully. After two victories at the stages of the Grand Prix series, the Stolbova / Klimov couple became the two-time winner of the Russian Championship.
The duet began the season 2015/2016 with a very complicated program by technical standards. Klimov and Stolbova is the first couple in the world to complete the 3-3-2 cascade. In the final part of the Grand Prix, he was rated 154.6, which only did not reach the world record set by the duo of the figure skaters Trankov / Volosozhar.
Unfortunately, Klimovβs injury prevented the couple from performing at the European Championships. The recovery dragged on for four months, but in April 2016 at the World Championships in Boston, the pair Ksenia Stolbova / Fedor Klimov again went on the ice.

If the sports career of the Russian skater is always in front of journalists, then little is known about the personal life of Fedor Klimov.
