Oils are used in hydraulic systems to reduce friction between structural elements of nodes, and therefore to increase their life. There are many varieties of agents of this type on the market. And one of the highest quality is the AMG-10. Aviation oil (hydraulic) of this brand can be used for engines of both ground and air equipment. Its performance is not bad, but it is very expensive.
Release form and composition
It is an AMG-10 oil, the characteristics of which will be considered by us in the article, a transparent viscous liquid of red color. It consists of products of hydrocracking of paraffin oil and isoparaffin and naphthenic hydrocarbons. Color AMG-10 gives a special dye of organic origin. Also, the composition of this tool includes various kinds of thickening and antioxidant additives. Precipitation AMG-10 does not.
This oil is usually marketed in cans or cans. Many suppliers sell it, and you can purchase it at almost any specialized outlet. The price of hydraulic oil AMG-10 is approximately 6000-6500 thousand for a canister with a capacity of 15 kg.
Use in air technology
Most often, the AMG-10 is poured into the hydraulic systems of aircraft. At an altitude of 10 thousand meters, the air temperature, regardless of the time of year, is -50 ° C. This oil was developed mainly for use in such conditions. When used in hydraulic systems of land-based modes of transport, it therefore can not freeze even in the most severe winter. The upper temperature limit for this product is +55 ° C, the lower - -60 ° C.
In addition to aircraft hydraulic systems, the AMG-10 can also be used in helicopters. In this case, it is usually also used in winter as a diluent for gear oil (hypoid) in the main gearbox. In aircraft, it, among other things, is poured into the elevator and direction rudder systems, into the main cylinders of the chassis. According to the regulations, this product can be used in units with a working discharge pressure of up to 229 kg / cm 2 .
Ground application
On the ground, AMG-10 is most often used in hydraulic systems of various kinds of road-building special equipment in the North. Owners of personal cars do not use it. Most motorists believe that it is able to dissolve rubber hoses and cuffs (which are not in the aircraft). And although there is an opinion that this is not entirely true, AMG-10 oil has not yet been used in conventional cars because it is very expensive. On the market today there are many quite high-quality and at the same time not too expensive products of this group and other brands. Yes, and for road construction machinery this oil is rarely used today. In this case, its cheaper substitutes are usually used.
According to many motorists, this oil is good only for all sorts of simple hydraulic systems - racks, jacks, power steering.
AMG-10 oil: analogues
Unfortunately, this product has no direct substitutes. However, if necessary, instead of it, you can use, for example, such analogues:
- Oil VMGZ 45/60.
- Hydronikoil FH-51.
According to ISO-6743-4, aviation oil AMG-10 belongs to the HL group.
VMGZ 45/60
A distinctive feature of this analogue is a low degree of viscosity. VMGZ oil is used in land modes of transport, as is AMG-10, mainly in the Far North. It is often used in the central areas in the winter season. The main purpose of this product is to lubricate the hydraulic systems of construction, road, forestry, lifting equipment operating outdoors at an air temperature in the range of -40 ... +50 ° C. This product can be delivered to the market in cans or barrels.
Hydronikoil FH-51 oil
This working fluid also belongs to the aviation group. Like the AMG-10, it can be used for aircraft and ground equipment. The range of operating temperatures for Hydronikoil FH-10 is exactly the same as for AMG-10.

The main advantage of AMG-10 oil, therefore, is its ability to maintain its properties at very low temperatures. The main parameters that determine the quality of hydraulic fluids are also:
- Viscosity (yield strength). The ability of oil to penetrate into all components of the hydraulic system depends on this parameter . If you use too thick oil, the parts will wear out quickly. Too liquid a mixture reduces the efficiency of the system.
- The number of neutralization. This parameter indicates the amount of alkaline and acidic substances in the oil. The former may have a negative effect on the structural materials of the system. A high acid content in oil is therefore undesirable.
- Density (mass per unit fluid). This indicator directly depends on temperature and pressure. As t increases, the oil volume also increases.

Test methods
The companies OOO Isk Miskom, Necton Sia and others, as already mentioned, supply AMG-10 with high-quality oil to the market. Checking it for compliance with the parameters provided by GOST is carried out using special technologies. So:
- Compliance of the product with the appearance standards is checked visually in a transparent glass tube having a diameter of 20 mm at room temperature.
- Kinematic viscosity at a temperature of +50 ° C is determined using a special device - a viscometer. To prevent moisture and air from getting inside this equipment, use tubes with a desiccant. As the latter, silica gel or calcium chloride can be used.
Safety requirements for storage and use
Despite the fact that the AMG-10 is a low-risk product, it is supposed to work with it only in rooms equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation. In the event that the oil spills on the floor finished with artificial turf, it should be collected in a separate container. The contaminated area must be thoroughly wiped with a rag. If the oil spills on the ground in an open area, the stain is first covered with sand, and then removed by excavation.
AMG-10 should not be allowed to come into contact with the skin. If this happens, rinse the affected area with plenty of soap and water. If oil enters the eyes or mucous membranes, large amounts of running water should be used.
The flash point of AMG-10 is quite high. But it can, of course, burn. Therefore, it should be stored away from open flame. If the oil does catch fire, it is possible to use water, foam, carbon dioxide, steam, and SZHB compounds to extinguish it.
The price of AMG-10 oil is high. However, the warranty period of storage is rather long - 5 years from the date of manufacture for the southern regions and 10 years for the northern ones. In case of mismatch of the qualities of this product with the declared ones, the manufacturer agrees to fulfill his obligations only if consumers store it properly. Pouring the composition into another container is not allowed. Oil should be stored in cans or barrels of the manufacturer indoors.
Transportation
It is allowed to transport AMG-10 oil by any means of transport. It is recommended to lay barrels on platforms on their side. It is also allowed to install them when transporting upside down. In this position of the container, various kinds of impurities can not get into the oil, which can change its performance.
