Martin Jakubko is a Slovak professional footballer playing as a striker in the club Ruzomberok and the national team of Slovakia. Born February 26, 1980 in the city of Presov, Slovakia. He played 41 matches in the Slovak national football team and scored 9 goals. He participated in the 2010 World Cup, but spent only 6 minutes on the field. Nevertheless, the footballer earned a penalty in the match against the Netherlands national team (1/8 finals), and Robert Wittek successfully implemented it. The forward growth is 195 centimeters, and the weight is 95 kilograms.
Acquaintance with football, youth career
He began to play football at the age of six, and played at the Khmininska Nova Ves Academy. Then he moved to the youth team of Slovan, and after a while he played for Odeva Lipany. The youth career of a football player ended in 1999.
Careers in Slovak clubs
From 1999 to 2002 he played for the Tatran club. Here he played 23 official matches, but never managed to score. In 2003 he moved to the club "Dukla" from the city of Banska Bistrica. It was here that Martin Yakubko revealed his phenomenal football talents. For 58 matches, the Slovak striker managed to score 25 goals. This result was competitive for Slovak football. Soon, foreign clubs became interested in the player.
Football experience in Russian championships
In 2006, Martin Yakubko moved to Russia, where he entered into an agreement with Saturn from the city of Ramenskoye. The debut appearance on the field took place on March 19 in a duel with St. Petersburg “Zenith”.
In the summer transfer period of 2008, he moved to Khimki. As part of the “red-blacks" first entered the field on July 13 and again in a match with Zenit. In early 2009, he signed a contract with FC Moscow. However, due to internal problems, the club was forced to return to “Saturn” for half a season as a “free agent”. In 2010, as part of the “black and blue” he played 12 matches without goals.
Unsuccessful cooperation with Dynamo
In the same year, Martin Yakubko accepted offers from the Moscow Dynamo. The contract was signed for three years, however, six months later, the agreement was terminated. And the Slovak forward received considerable money indemnity.
Performances for Amkar (Perm)
In 2012, he moved to Perm Amkar. He entered the field in the match of 33 Tours against the Wings of the Soviets club, and scored his first goal in the match with Krasnodar in the 36th round. Goal Yakubko Martin was the only and victorious match. Between 2012 and 2015, he played 65 official matches for Amkar and scored nine goals.
Retirement
In June 2015, he returned to his homeland, where he entered into an agreement with Ruzomberok as a free agent. Here he played 28 matches and scored 6 goals. In 2016, information appeared in the press that Martin was leaving big sport and was completing his football career.
