In order for the student to develop the ability to write correctly, experienced teachers use a learning method such as spelling analysis, despite the fact that not all modern textbooks provide this analysis in their program. In the process of performing this algorithm, the child secures knowledge of the morphemic composition of the parts of speech. Moreover, in this way it is easier for a student to remember many rules and principles of spelling.
In order to conduct spelling analysis of a word in a lesson, it is recommended that the teacher select words for the spelling already studied. The parsing algorithm can be approximately as follows.
To start, the selected word is written out separately. If a letter is missing in it, then it is inserted. Next, a part of speech is determined and all the morphemes that are present are highlighted. After this, the student must indicate all the spelling he noticed. If the child has missed something, it is advisable for the teacher to indicate this to him before moving on to the next stage.
The next step is a brief analysis of each spelling. To do this, the student needs to indicate its type, give a brief description of the identifying attribute, argue the choice of writing it. In high school, it is recommended to name the spelling principle, which corresponds to this rule.
To show spelling analysis of a word in practice, the following example can be cited. The adjective "shameless" contains 4 spelling symbols. The first of them in the prefix (bes-), refers to the rule of spelling of vowels in this part of the word. The rule says that in this case, -e is spelled regardless of pronunciation. The bis-prefix does not exist in Russian.
Further spelling of the word provides an explanation of the spelling of the deaf -s. In this case, this letter is written because another deaf follows after it. Both spelling patterns correspond to the phonetic principle.
Spelling analysis of the word can be included at any stage of the lesson, but such exercises will give maximum effect when fixing the material. In the given example, “unscrupulous” also has a “weak” sound in the root -conscience. Here the spelling is not checked, this unstressed vowel must be remembered. This spelling refers to the traditional principle of the Russian language. The last spelling explained in this word is the unpronounceable consonant -t-. In order to check it, it is enough to pick up a cognate noun in which the sound is in a strong position (conscience).
In some cases, it is appropriate to invite students to bring test or similar words to this rule. This can be done both orally and in writing.
Including spelling analysis of the word in classes in the Russian language since elementary school, the teacher contributes to the formation of literacy skills in children. And by saying the rules of writing aloud, students reinforce them. In addition, these exercises are the best suited for learning to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
