The opening of the Salaryevo metro station was a long-awaited event for residents of New Moscow. It has been planned for a long time to extend the Sokolniki branch to the southwest. However, for various reasons, construction was delayed indefinitely. And only in 2016 new stations were opened, which greatly facilitated the lives of the residents of Solntsevo and Novo-Peredelkino. Now getting to the center of the capital has become much more convenient and faster. In addition, the extension of the Sokolniki branch reduced the load on the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station.
A bit of history
The construction and opening of the Rumyantsevo and Salaryevo metro stations was planned over 45 years ago (in 1971). It was supposed to build the South Station in this area. They were going to use it for long-distance trains. In those days, Kursky Station received an excessively large number of passengers, so it was necessary to reduce the load. However, this project was not implemented, and the need for subway stations outside the Moscow Ring Road in the south-west disappeared.
In the 1980s, a need arose again for the construction and opening of the Rumyantsevo and Salaryevo metro stations. It was planned to organize the southern depot of the Sokolnicheskaya line. New stations were supposed to be located on the chord branch. Then they decided to build as a continuation of the Sokolniki line. But the opening date of the Salaryevo metro station was postponed for almost three decades. The commissioning of new stations was scheduled for 2025.
However, the discovery took place much earlier. In 2011, the territory of the Moscow region located south-west of the MKAD was included in the capital. They received the name "New Moscow". In addition, in 2008 the Rumyantsevo shopping and office center was opened here. This has increased the need for new metro stations.
The construction of the continuation of the Sokolniki branch to the southwest began in 2013. And in 2016, the opening of the metro "Rumyantsevo" and "Salaryevo".
Description of the station "Rumyantsevo"
Metro Rumyantsevo received its first passengers in January 2016. This is a shallow station equipped with many columns. It was originally planned to decorate its track walls with bas-reliefs similar to the facades of houses. However, at present the station is decorated with abstract drawings. Her design is made in black and white. The design of the station is brightened by orange benches for passengers.
The station has two exits to the Kiev highway. Nearby are the villages of Salaryevo and Dudkino. There are no large residential neighborhoods, but the flow of passengers is quite large. This is due to the fact that the large Rumyantsevo business center is nearby.
Description of the station "Salaryevo"
The opening of the metro Salaryevo took place in February 2016. This is a columned station, its design is designed in strict gray-white and beige colors. Track walls are decorated with colored geometric patterns in the style of constructivism. The station is unusual in that one of its ends is intended for entry, and the other for passengers to exit.
The station is located outside the MKAD between the village of Salaryevo and Kiev highway. Nearby is the Khovansky cemetery.
Muscovites often ask themselves: was there any sense in opening the Salaryevo metro station? After all, the station is located far from large residential areas. The village of Salaryevo is a small village of about 1000 people.
This question can be answered positively, because the flow of passengers at the station is considerable. Metro Salaryevo is used by residents of Solntsevo, Novo-Peredelkino, New Moscow, and Vnukovo Airport is located nearby. Soon, a modern residential neighborhood will be built here. But even now the station is never empty.
In the future, it is planned to lay a light rail route from Troitsk to the Salaryevo metro station. This will facilitate the passage of residents of the former Moscow region to the center of the capital.
Prospects for the development of the Sokolniki line
Soon after the opening of the Salaryevo metro station, work began on extending the Sokolnicheskaya line to New Moscow. A plot will be opened up to the settlement of Sosenskoye. The following stations will be commissioned as part of this line:
- Filatov Meadow.
- "Prokshino".
- "Alder".
- "Pillar".
This section will stretch for a distance of 11 km, it will be partially ground. At the terminal station "Stolbovo" there will be a transfer to a new line, which will last until the village of Kommunarka. The completion of the construction is planned by 2019.
Often, residents of Solntsevo and Novo-Peredelkino are interested in the question of whether the Sokolnicheskaya line will be extended to their areas. Currently, these people have to use the Salaryevo metro station. The opening of stations in Solntsevo and Novo-Peredelkino is planned for the near future. However, the Sokolnicheskaya line will not be extended, but the Kalinin line. It is supposed to open a site from the Ramenki station to the Novoperedelkino station in 2018.
