Often you hear the expression “nipple system”. What does it mean? In order not to be perplexed with round eyes or not to use the expression in an inappropriate situation, we will understand its meaning.
What is a nipple
The word "nipple" comes from the English nipple (nipple). A nipple is a small piece of metal pipe with a thread on the outside. It allows you to reliably connect two parts with an internal thread.
With the help of a nipple, pipelines and parts of various devices and machines can be connected, it also serves to regulate the pressure in automobile and bicycle tires, balls, lifejackets, rafts, etc.
Nipple system
Each element of any system is extremely important, but it cannot function by itself, not an exception and a nipple. The nipple system can be designed for permanent or temporary connection of elements.
- A temporary connection may be necessary to fill the air with various pneumatic devices that we already reminded of (inflatable tires, vests, rafts, etc.).
- Permanent connection with a nipple helps to securely fasten two parts together, for example, when connecting pipelines. With the help of a radiator nipple, sections of heating radiators are fastened together.
Nipple system in agriculture
Nipple watering systems are used to feed farm birds or small animals (most often for rabbits). With the help of such a system, water is delivered to the chicks and animals without its excessive flow.
The drinking system is extremely simple: a small can or other container is installed on top, into which water is poured, a hose goes from the container to a nipple drinker, from which birds or animals drink.
The bicycle nipple, consisting of a plastic case, a valve and a stainless steel rod, allows the bird to receive the required amount of liquid. To do this, just press the beak on the stem. Seeing water droplets on a nipple, birds intuitively learn to extract water from them. Such a system greatly facilitates the work of caring for pets.
From the mouth of the people
The expression "nipple system" today has become a catch phrase. Its origin is primarily associated with the bicycle nipple, the main task of which is to fill the chamber with air without leakage.
Values
The expression "system nipple" has many meanings:
- This is the name of a system created in everyday life that works without disruption, but looks very complicated and cumbersome, without representing any technically complex structure (like a complex unit created by a professor from the movie Back to the Future-3, which occupied half of the house , but was intended only to obtain ice cubes).
- Also in everyday life, the "nipple system" is a collapse or failure in something. That is, a person made a lot of efforts and efforts, trying to achieve success in some business, but as a result the “return” turned out to be zero.
- Since the part through which air passes only in one direction is precisely the nipple, any closed public system is called a system with this name. For example, in Nikolai Kolyada’s play Murlene Murlo, one of the main characters says: “You are not in Chicago, dear. Here we have a different system. Nipple system: you blow there, but not back. ” In this case, synonymous expressions are such as: “entry is the ruble, exit is five dimes” or “let everyone in, don’t let anyone out”.
- Sometimes, a “nipple system," on the contrary, is called a damaged or poorly working technique. You can hear the full version of the expression - "the system nipple - lowers." So they say when they mean something unreliable. (After all, the nipple must let in air when pumping, preventing the wheel from lowering, if the wheel is blown off all the time, it can even break).
- Some people call the “nipple system” such a relationship between people when one person does everything for another, and he says “shish with oil.” That is, a kind of one-way connection is obtained, as in the nipple system.
- “It follows the nipple system” - this is how they talked about public transport in the 90s of the 20th century. The fact is that as a result of a failure on the “line”, the transport often went only in one direction, with the sides following each other, but there was no reverse motion.
- The colloquial expression "system nipple" suggests that the case requires a competent engineering approach to solving the problem. In this case, they still say: "This is not a broom to knit for you, you need to think and have knowledge."
Film
“System Nipple” is also the name of the comedy film by Alexander Pankratov-Cherny, released on the screens of the Soviet Union in 1990.
The film tells how residents of a communal apartment, who no longer had the strength to endure the tricks of a bureaucrat chief, decide to kill him. It’s simply impossible to think of a better performer than Senya Rodimtsev, because Senya is a patient in a psychiatric hospital, which means they will not be sent to prison.
Wife rescued Rodimtsev from the hospital, especially for the "case." But Senya, too, is still among the “loonies,” her own communal neighbors. Finding himself at last in the office of the hated boss, Senya becomes a participant in a real “crazy show”, in which there are machine-gun bursts, and an attempt to poison, and lament the boss about the fate of the freezing children ... This whole “performance” ends with the seizure of the city hall by real patients of the psychiatric hospital.
Many fell in love with the ridiculous and comical film System Nipple. What this expression means depends on the situation and the context in which it is used, because its meaning can be very different.
