Over the past few years, much attention has been paid to national cuisines and the preparation of healthy, delicious food. On television, on the Internet, cooking shows appear more and more. Cooking not only delicious, but healthy and aesthetically pleasing dishes has become very fashionable in the 21st century. Nordic cuisine is becoming increasingly popular in Moscow.
What do they eat in northern European countries?
Scandinavian cuisine includes the culinary traditions of several northern countries (Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and others). In the diet of the countries of the North, different ingredients are used: all kinds of fish, game, root vegetables, berries, nuts, herbs. Baking with the addition of whole grains is very popular, it tastes good and is healthy.
Scientists have found that the omega-3 fatty acids so popular today are found in large quantities not only in some seafood, but also in berries. Both that, and another is actively applied for preparation of dishes in the Scandinavian countries.
Now you can taste the delicious food of the peoples of the north in Moscow. For example, in the gastropub MOS. The restaurant opened on Trubetskaya Street on the last day of July 2015.
MOS - restaurant, Trubetskaya 10
The restaurant is two-level, ready to receive 80 guests at a time. The furniture is modern, comfortable. The tables are located very close to each other, so for people who prefer privacy, it may not be very comfortable here.
The heart of the 1st level is the kitchen, it is open to the eyes of visitors. Everyone can see the excellent technical equipment of this place. And watching the cooking process of ordered dishes is sometimes better than any television show.
The kitchen space is separated from the hall by a high counter. She can accommodate 8 persons for tasting original dishes from the chef of the institution. This area is called the Chef's Table.
Climbing to the 2nd floor is met by a huge black eagle owl depicted on the wall. It was as if he had flown from the north to feast on something tasty. At this level there is also an open kitchen, but behind the glass.
The dishes in which the food is served are simply unique - as if made of marble or granite. She is simple, beautiful and looks very expensive. Of these plates, it is pleasant to eat for any person. The color scheme corresponds to the Nordic style: gray with black spots and kipelno white.
Why MOS?
The name of the restaurant was given by its chef and co-owner - Estonian Andrei Korobyak. "Mes" (if translated for certain) means "blessing of the grandmother, kiss" in translation from Danish. Together with an experienced restaurateur Zaturinsky Alexander, he wanted to create a special place, getting into which a person would seem to be in one of the countries of Northern Europe.
The interior design is designed in the style of "Scandinavian modern" (late 30s of the twentieth century) with elements of constructivism. The interior is decorated in cool tones - blue, gray, cyan, pale pink in combination with black and brown create a calm pacifying atmosphere.
The direction of "rich poverty" is visible in the design of premises and menus.

Many argue that the waiters are polite, and the dishes are served within a quarter of an hour. Some call staff โlong,โ like cooking time.
Most visitors are positive about open kitchens. And someone complains about the poor performance of the cooker hoods and the pungent smell of cooking food.
Almost all restaurant customers really like local bread, as well as Danish donuts, rye buns and cereal chips. A special admiration is the wine list. The interior impressed most of the guests of the gastropub.
Fish lovers praise the warm cormorant with cod, Tallinn fish soup, salmon gravlax.
Adherents of vegetarianism enthralled grilled romaine, tomato water, green risotto.
Meat dishes are also on the menu. The rack of lamb, duck pie, veal cheeks, beef sandwich are especially noted.
Visitors who happened to go into the toilet room were pleasantly surprised by the unusual sound background. Namely, alternating Russian and Estonian (as it turned out) words and expressions. The idea seemed wonderful to everyone.
