Metro station “Bitsevsky Park”: construction, interesting facts

Bitsevsky Park is one of the Moscow metro stations located in the south-west of Moscow, in the Yasenevo area. It was built relatively recently, in 2014. Its history, construction features and style will be considered in more detail.

Quick reference

"Bitsevsky Park" is the metro so named for the nearby Bitsevsky Forest. Until 2008, it was called “Novoyasenevskaya”, then the name was transferred to a new stop, which is 150 meters closer to the forest.

In 2004, authorities decided to extend the Butovo line. Construction work began in 2011. According to the projects, this subway section was planned as underground. After the Muscovites spoke for the conservation of the forest, they decided to lay tunnels in a closed way so as not to harm the forest stands.

Thus, the Bitsevsky Park station, the location of which did not affect the forest plantations, is located on Novoyasenevsky Prospekt.

The origin of the name of the forest itself is interesting. It comes from the Bitsa River, which flows in the southern parts of the park. The value of the Bitsevsky forest is enormous for the ecology of Moscow; air from it flows to the city center. There are many rare plants and animals in need of protection.

Design

"Bitsevsky Park" is a metro belonging to the island type of construction. Its platform is 92 meters long and 10 meters wide. The lobby is built above the ground, it has a rounded shape and is designed for two stations at once. Such an arrangement of the lobby also implements the main idea of the station - inseparability with the natural environment.

In the western part of the platform there is a transfer to Novoyasenevskaya. In the east direction there is an elevator for people with limited physical abilities.

From the station you can go to the Kaluga-Riga metro line.

Design

Bitsevsky Park is a metro designed by the master architects N. Shumakova and G. Moon. The architectural style of the building is modern. The lobby above the ground has natural light.

The base station architecture is based on an asymmetric arch and extended caissons. The analogue is Krylatskoye on the Filevskaya line.

The right side of the station goes into the basement, the oncoming wall ends with an overlap. The original solution is backed by light and color support. The station is decorated with decorative panels, the theme of which reflects the connection with the Bitsevsky park. Depicted are people walking in the park with dogs, as well as horses.

The decoration is made of granite, marble, glass. The walls are finished with volumetric ceramics. At the entrance to the lobby is the composition Noah's Ark, authored by sculptor Leonid Berlin.

The composition was transferred from the Novoyasenevskaya station and restored. Its creation in 1989, the master timed to the idea of moving the Moscow Zoo to this area, which, fortunately, was not implemented. And the creation itself acquired artistic value. It is an image of people and animals on a ship.

"Bitsa Park" - a shallow underground metro. Its construction belongs to the organization MUP "Kazmetrostroy". The tunnel began to be laid in August 2012, completed in June 2013.

The asymmetric arch is made of monolithic reinforced concrete. It was concreted with a mechanized unit capable of moving. In order to create niches for the caissons, corresponding shapers of various types were made.

The cost of building the metro station Bitsevsky Park in Moscow amounted to 27.7 billion rubles.

Interesting Facts

From the very beginning, at the project stage, the Bitsevsky Park metro station was heavily criticized. The initial draft of 2009 was criticized due to clearance. It included a panel in bright red and a checkerboard floor. Many associated this design with the facts about the Bitsa killer, who was also called "a maniac with a chessboard."

The idea was changed, and in 2013 a new project was approved, according to which the station was built.

Criticism was also associated with damage that could be caused to forest stands. Bitsevsky forest is a protected natural area where construction work is not permitted. As a result, it was possible to ensure that the metro line does not touch the park itself. And the extension itself was intended to improve the ecological atmosphere in the area.

Constantly criticized are the images made at the station.
