School of morality: what it means to be a responsible person

Man is a social being. He is used to living in society and feels uncomfortable in loneliness. Units are prone to hermitism, although everyone needs their own personal space and the non-intrusion of outsiders into it. But one cannot live in society and be free from it. Therefore, we are all connected by explicit and invisible threads with many other people: relatives, friends, acquaintances, colleagues, and even those with whom we accidentally met with glances on the street or in transport.

The basics of human dormitory

what it means to be a responsible person
About how to build relationships with people, written a lot of guides to action. And we all know the 10 commandments, and the fact that others need to be treated as we want them to relate to us. However, speaking of love and tolerance as the most important principles of harmonious and highly spiritual ties, we forget about another quality, no less significant and fundamental. It is a responsibility to someone and for something. But everything is based on it: family, work, life, career. And not only on a personal, but also on a universal scale. What does it mean to be a responsible person? Let's try to cover this issue from different angles.

From simple to complex

what it means to be human
First and foremost, it must be mandatory. Remember, in the saying: “having given the word - keep it!” Therefore, to keep promises, to answer for your words, to correspond to them, not to throw them to the wind - that is what it means to be a responsible person. And this applies to both large and small! A sense of commitment must be brought up from early childhood. An elementary example of what it means to be a responsible person: mother instructed her daughter to clean up, she promised to do it, but played too much, forgot. In the evening, guests unexpectedly arrived, and in the apartment mess. Who will blush? That's right, mom. And for the mess, and for the daughter, who has not yet been taught to keep promises. And if after the incident, adults hold an educational conversation with the child, help them realize that it was he who put everyone in an uncomfortable position - the daughter will learn a lesson on what it means to be a responsible person once and for all.

Conscience and responsibility

Obligation is simply necessary to inculcate in children in those families where several children grow up or have sick, helpless relatives. Warm up tea and give it to an old grandmother, find lost glasses, pick up a brother from the garden or feed him dinner, check the lessons from her sister - parents can easily put such cares on their 10-11-year-old children.

what it means to be responsible

The child will quickly understand what it means to be a responsible person if something really important depends on him. In this case, such a moral category as conscience will become understandable and close to him. And if a teenager tries to come home from school on time, not because his parents scold, but because his grandmother is waiting for him at home, who cannot get food out of the refrigerator, or a dog that needs to be walked, he no longer needs to explain what it means to be a person of high responsibility. And in the future, becoming an adult, he is not afraid to take care of loved ones or strangers on his shoulders. And living next to him will be reliable.

Is the fairy tale a lie?

why you need to be a responsible person
In “The Little Prince” by Antoine Exupery there is a phrase that has long and firmly become winged: “We are responsible for those we tamed.” It is directly related to what it means to be responsible in our understanding. The hero of Exupery left his planet and went on a trip because he was offended by the Rose - a beautiful flower, but extremely capricious and restless. It seemed to the Prince that Rosa was a wayward egoist, did not appreciate his care and attention at all, she was only occupied with herself. He did not understand the simple truth: when they need you, it is a great happiness. The wise Fox opened his eyes to all the hero. He explained that although the prince saw many roses on Earth, the one that grows on his planet is still special. Because only loved ones become the only ones. And for their sake they risk, sacrifice themselves, suffer inconvenience. And they always come back to their loved ones. After all, you have tamed them, and they - you. So the prince flies off to his home, because there Rosa waits for him, is sad, and there is no one to take care of her! That's why you need to be a responsible person: you have been trusted, and you cannot deceive trust, you have no right. But the little philosopher makes a truly royal gift to the pilot. He advises, in moments of loneliness and longing, to look at the sky more often and remember: there, among an infinite number of shining stars, there is one - the planet of the Little Prince. And from her, the prince also looks up at the sky, looking for the Earth among the golden dust, thinking about his friend-pilot. And about the Fox. And when you know that somewhere far away there is a heart loving you - you stop being lonely!

This is how responsibility, conscientiousness, care and love intertwine, forming a moral code of personality.
