Shugaring at home

Today, there are quite a few ways to deal with body hair - this is shaving, and expensive salon procedures for laser hair removal for life, and bleaching hair. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford the second, but, nevertheless, one wants to get rid of hair, and preferably for a long time, if not forever. Many girls prefer to perform unwanted hair removal at home, afraid to trust professionals. It’s more difficult to choose an effective method of hair removal at home, but here you can find a way out. One of the simplest procedures available to each is shugaring.

In beauty salons they provide the service of shugaring, or, as it is called differently, sugar hair removal. Shugaring also has other names: sugar paste hair removal, SPA hair removal, caramel hair removal, bio hair removal. Whatever the procedure is called, the process is the same everywhere. It resembles waxing, but here the wax is replaced by sugar.

Salons present shugaring as a novelty, although in fact this way the hair of an Oriental girl was removed hundreds of years ago.

Those who decide to do shugaring at home should first study the process of preparing the sugar mixture, then learn how to cook it and only then try to remove the hairs. Preparing this mixture is not easy, but possible if desired. Shugaring epilation itself is almost painless, which is why it gained popularity so quickly. In addition, the procedure is safe, since liquid sugar does not cause allergies and irritation. There is a chance of getting a burn, but in order to protect yourself from injuries, you need to be careful. With the help of sugar hair removal, it is possible to get rid of thin hairs for a long time, removing them with the root. Most often, shugaring at home is performed by removing hairs in the bikini and armpit area. It is unpleasant to injure delicate skin with a machine or electric razor, therefore sugar paste is an excellent substitute.

If you want to make pasta in order to make a shugaring at home, you will need sugar, lemon juice and water. The mixture is in theory the most common sugar syrup, which we will turn into viscous caramel. A glass of sugar is mixed with a sufficient amount of lemon juice and a spoonful of water. Mixing all the ingredients, put the mixture on a minimum fire. Constantly stirring, bring the syrup to a boil. After that, we continue to boil for a few more minutes and make sure that the sugar does not burn. The consistency should not be liquid, but not too thick. The fragrant caramel smell distinguishes the cooked pasta from the semi-finished product. After you have a golden brown sugar mixture with the smell of caramel, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool. After the paste has cooled a little, but not hardened, try to get a piece with your hands. Check if you can make a lump, which in theory should be like a ball of plasticine. If the lump is easily formed and does not adhere strongly to the hands, it can be applied to the skin. If the paste is well cooked, then shugaring hair removal will be successful.

Before starting the hair removal procedure directly, degrease the skin with alcohol lotion. Roll the ball itself, knead it with your hands and apply on the skin against hair growth. Holding and pulling the paste with one hand, with the other with a sharp movement, tear it in the direction of growth. If after the first time the hair has not been completely removed, repeat the procedure. Practice first by removing hair from your legs, then move on to the bikini line and armpits.

As you can see, actually it is possible to carry out shugaring at home, but there are some nuances that are difficult to convey in words and can only be understood in practice. If you are in doubt whether you can handle hair removal at home, visit a beauty salon, where it will be done quickly and painlessly, because in cosmetic rooms sugar paste has a different composition than home-made paste, and it is intended for professional hair removal.
