The introduction of an embargo on food imports has opened up great prospects for producers of vegetable products, namely, the holding "Gardens of the Giant" of the Novosibirsk region. This complex was built in 2012 and belongs to one of the young agricultural enterprises. Today it is the largest agricultural enterprise engaged in the cultivation of vegetables and herbs.
Agroinvestment
The idea of building a greenhouse "Gardens of the Giant" (Koltsovo) arose in 2007. And already in 2009, a land plot of 200 hectares near the village of Koltsovo was acquired and registered as a property. Previously, this territory belonged to the bankrupt state farm Zheleznodorozhny.
The main determining criteria for the selection of the site were: its proximity to Novosibirsk, environmentally friendly environment, quick connection to the power line and gas pipeline. The first investments amounted to 750 million rubles. Of these, the holding provided Sberbank 500 million rubles, and the remaining 250 million rubles were its own investments.
Then began the preparation of the territory for the construction of facilities and a detailed development of the project. First of all, vegetable stores for 8 thousand tons were built, a greenhouse plant for growing greens and tomatoes. In addition, a gas boiler room was erected. All constructed facilities are connected to the gas pipeline. The holding's management plans to recoup all investments in the next 8 years.
From landing to temperature
The first car with freshly packaged fruits, vegetables and herbs leaves at 6 a.m. from the territory of the Giant's Gardens agricultural holding. The agricultural complex works round the clock to ensure the uninterrupted supply of its products to more than 20 large supermarkets. And the employees of the holding successfully cope with this.
Giant's Gardens is a whole modern enterprise whose work is based on the full cycle of vegetable processing. So, vegetables and greens are planted, grown, packaged, and then delivered to store shelves.
In open ground, radish, carrots, beets and potatoes are successfully grown. In greenhouses, they plant various herbs, tomatoes and cucumbers. All greenhouse products in the agricultural complex are grown using additional artificial lighting, because the plants lack natural light.
Up to 8 thousand tons of vegetables are grown in open ground per year, and in greenhouses this figure is close to 2 thousand tons. The Giant's Gardens complex uses modern technologies for growing vegetables and all products meet accepted standards. During cultivation, all technological processes are observed and the permitted plant protection products are used.
In the agricultural complex "Gardens of the Giant" all products can be stored for up to 8 months. For each particular crop, a given temperature regime is maintained. For example, cabbage and carrots are stored at 0 degrees, potatoes at +3 degrees Celsius. Vegetable workers strictly monitor the temperature regime of each chamber.
Packaging and sales
From the vegetable storehouse vegetables and greens go to the filling shop. Green products are washed and packaged in bags, net or plastic film. Fruits are also packaged here, which are separately brought to the territory of the Giant's Gardens holding.
Every day, the products of the complex are delivered to large supermarkets in the city, to owners of small wholesale companies, to individual enterprises. The Giant's Gardens agricultural holding daily provides up to 60 tons of fresh vegetables and herbs for stores in Novosibirsk and the region.
