Andre Gomes is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder in the English Everton on loan from Barcelona and the Portuguese national team. Previously played for Benfica and Valencia. As part of the Portuguese national team, he is the European champion in 2016.
Biography: early career of a football player
Andre Gomes was born July 30, 1993 in the city of Grijo, Portugal. During his youth career, he performed at such academies as Porto, Pasteleira, Boavista and Benfica. At the age of eighteen, Gomesh signed a professional contract with Benfica. On July 28, 2012 he made his debut for the club in a match against Jill Vicenet. For the first few seasons, Andre Gomes played for the reserve squad (Benfica B), but occasionally appeared in the main squad of the Eagles. In total, he played 14 matches for Benfica and scored two goals. Here he became the champion of Portugal 2013/14 and the owner of the Portuguese League Cup 2014.
Career at Valencia
In the 2014/15 season, Gomes went to play in Spain, where he signed a lease agreement with Valencia. As part of the "bats" spent 33 matches and became the author of 4 goals. The club management did not want to let the player go back, so by the next season Gomesh’s contract had been redeemed. In the 2015/16 season, Gomesh continued to play as a key player of the main squad, where he spent 30 matches and scored 3 goals. On July 21, 2016, the Catalan Barcelona announced that they had reached a five-year mutual agreement with the Portuguese Andre Gomes. The leadership of the “blue-pomegranate" paid for the Portuguese midfielder 35 million euros with a possible bonus of 20 million. Gomes made his debut for Barca on August 17 in a home victory match over Seville with a score 3: 0 in the Spanish Super Cup. He scored his first goal for the team on March 19, 2017 through the goal of his former club Valencia as part of the Spanish Championship, the match ended with a score of 4: 2.
