When using a single computer by colleagues or family members, an account in Windows 10 is required for each user. When using the function of creating separate accounts, it is much more convenient to monitor the safety of personal data and the setting of functions and design individually. We will describe in detail how a separate profile is created for a Windows 10 user.
Accounts
User profiles in the latest versions of Windows, including the tenth one, can be divided into local profiles (work with them is carried out only on the user's PC) and Microsoft UZ (account registration via e-mail is required, it makes it possible to use data on different devices).
By default, the system will offer to create a Microsoft user account, but you can do this in the same menu.
The easiest way
To create an account in Windows 10, you need to go through the main menu, accessible by pressing the "Start" button to the "Settings" section (in the menu it is marked as a gear icon, on top of the shutdown button).

In this screenshot, we highlighted in yellow the menu item that you will need to enter for further work with accounts.
There is an item "Family and other people" in the menu on the left on a gray background - go to it, you will be taken directly to the section where the account is created in Windows 10.
It is possible to create a profile for a family member and any other. The difference lies in the fact that when creating a family profile, you can select the item on creating an account for the child - in this case there will be the possibility of special filtering of content.
In order to start creating a regular account, click on the item below in the "Other people" section. A window will open in which the system will ask you to enter email. Enter the address and go to the next step.
When you click Next, an account will be created.
It is not always possible to create an account in Windows 10 through Microsoft UZ, therefore it is possible to create a local user profile. In order to create it, click on the link below, which says that you do not have the data for this user, and in the next paragraph, mark that you want to create a user without Microsoft UZ.
You will be taken to the window for creating a regular local view account, where you will need to fill in the fields with the profile name, password and its confirmation and ask an auxiliary question to clarify the password.
Change account type
By default, an account is created in Windows 10 without administrator rights. In order to set the profile status to "Administrator", log in under the profile with the appropriate rights (since creating an administrative profile with a regular account will not work), create a record according to the algorithm indicated above. You will see that a new entry has appeared in the list. Highlight it and click on the "Change Type ..." button. In the window that appears, select "Administrator" from the drop-down menu.
In the same way, by selecting a profile in the list, you can delete it.
When creating a new profile, it is installed by default as a regular user without additional rights.
Create an account using the command line
It is possible to create an account in Windows 10 through the command line.
- To do this, click on the magnifying glass icon to the right of the "Start" button and in the search bar, enter: "cmd" (without quotes).
- Of the items that appear, the top will be "Command Prompt" - you must run it with administrator rights (this is the item that will be available when you right-click).
- After the console is started, enter the following command in it:
net user Test password /add
Instead of the word Test, enter the name of the future account, and in place of password - the password from it.
If everything was done correctly, a message appears stating that the command completed successfully.
Please note that even when logging into an account with administrative rights, the command line will need to be run on behalf of the administrator in any case - during normal startup, this command will give an error about insufficient privileges.
