Basic Concepts of Beach Volleyball
Any sport has its own characteristics, its own distinctive features that attract people and make them spend more and more time doing this activity.
Beach volleyball is a type of classic volleyball, which is played indoors, on a special platform. The beach version of the game, as the name implies, is held in the sand, so participants go barefoot to the site. In many ways, this variety is very similar to its classic prototype: the goals and methods of achieving them are all the same. Two teams try to prevent the ball from falling in their half of the court and try to make the ball fall in half of the opponent’s field. Very often girls play beach volleyball, however, guys also love this sport. Moreover, if this is not a competition, then no one forbids boys and girls to play together. As for the competitive part, this sport is included in the program of the Olympic Games, and other championships also cause great spectator interest.
The basic rules of beach volleyball
In many ways, the rules of classic volleyball migrated to beach volleyball. The latter, however, has some differences.
First of all, it is worth noting the composition of the teams: in the beach version there are only two people on each side of the grid. Naturally, the dimensions of the site are much smaller than in the classic version. In order to somehow limit the height of the ball, special poles-limiters are installed at the edges of the net. The ball must fly above the net, but below the top of these poles, otherwise the team loses a point. An important point that is paid special attention to is the weather. Since the course of the game can be seriously affected by the wind, teams quite often change sides. Throughout the entire match, a side change occurs after every 10 points, and in the last round even more often - every five points played.
Game progress
As in the classic version, there are innings in the beach, and players of one team serve alternately, changing after losing one serve by one of the players. Beach volleyball provides for all types of innings with a brush, as well as a forearm, while you can beat both standing and jumping.
Moreover, it is allowed to serve both from above and from below. And 2013 beach volleyball is no different from previous years. As in other rules, which in recent years have already been finally formed. A small unpleasant minus is a complete rejection of replacements. Even if one of the players gets injured because of which he cannot continue the game, he will not be able to replace him. The team whose player is injured loses, which is not entirely honest. However, so far no changes are expected in the rules, so during the game, beach volleyball players need to be extremely careful not to let their team down.
