Pulp and paper industry as a sector of the national economy

One of the oldest and most developed sectors of the national economy of any country, Russia, in particular, is the pulp and paper industry. On the territory of the state, the opening of the first plant of this type dates back to the era of the reign of Peter I. This enterprise was called "Krasnoselskaya paper mill." It was there that the foundation was laid for the development of the entire Russian paper industry as a whole.

At the present stage, this factory is called so: "Krasnogorodsky experimental pulp and paper mill." For a long time, the production and processing of materials was carried out on foreign equipment, but now, thanks to the development of science and the introduction of new technologies, plants and factories use machines and machine tools of domestic assembly.

The pulp and paper industry is based on the production of paper of various quality, diverse cardboard with a huge number of properties, as well as products from these materials. Wood-fiber boards (popularly known as fiberboard) and fiber insulation are also the main products of this sector of the national economy. Like any production, the pulp and paper industry in Russia and around the world has side effects. So, they are fodder yeast, some chemical elements from the class of ethylene and fatty acids, turpentine, rosin and more.

It's no secret that products such as paper for newspapers and magazines, premium paper and its low-quality packaging counterpart, various types of wallpaper are produced through wood processing.

At the same time, in many states, forestry saturates with its materials initially such an industry as the pulp and paper industry (about 70%), and then others. These countries are primarily Finland. Moreover, in this state, and in others, recycling of paper raw materials - recyclables or waste paper is common.

The latest technologies that are used at the present stage allow you to combine cardboard and paper with other materials. The result of successful experiments of this nature is the expanded production of waterproof, durable and lightweight packaging materials that are used in the transportation, storage and sale of certain types of liquids.

As a rule, the pulp and paper industry uses spruce and some deciduous trees for its purposes. Cellulose is obtained through chemical treatment of pine and birch.

The paper industry in Russia and other countries uses a chemical substance, chlorine, to bleach paper pages. During the application of this element, aggressive compounds are formed that adversely affect the environment. Defenders of the planet, in collaboration with various chemical companies, advocate the use of oxygen for these purposes, which in no way affects the pollution of water bodies and air. To date, a huge number of enterprises are trying to switch to ecology-saving technology.
