Childhood
Leonid Fedun (photo of a businessman presented in the article) was born in Kiev in 1956. Arnold Antonovich’s father was a military doctor. Leonid’s childhood passed in the city of Leninsk (modern Baikonur). They sent him to the service of his father. Soon Arnold Antonovich headed the hospital department at the Baikonur cosmodrome. Where the Fedun family lived, there was a checkpoint system (checkpoints). In an atmosphere of strict secrecy, Leonid's father learned not to talk about working outside the service. Study and work
In terms of the profession, Leonid Fedun decided to follow in his father's footsteps, having made a military career. In 1977, the young man graduated from the school named after M.I. Nedelina (Rostov-on-Don). And then he entered the adjunct department at the Dzerzhinsky Academy.
After defending his Ph.D. thesis in philosophy, Leonid taught political science and political economy for several years. Fedun was also interested in history. In addition to versatile knowledge, the young man had excellent oratorical abilities. Leonid Fedun was always at work, speaking in classrooms to trade union activists, workers, schoolchildren and students.
In 1987, the future businessman was sent to Kogalym (the village of oil workers). There, Fedun was supposed to give several lectures to local workers. At one of them, Leonid met Vagit Alekperov, who was then head of Kogalymneftegaz. He offered a model speaker a job in his company.
Life before Spartak
Leonid Fedun had excellent analytical skills. They were very useful to him in the new workplace. Neftkonsult Feduna began to serve the new interests of the industry. But Leonid Arnoldovich was ambitious and wanted to develop further. At the first opportunity, the young leader entered the Higher School of Entrepreneurship and Privatization. There he deeply studied such a direction as “Securities”. 1994 - the time when he became vice president of LUKOIL Leonid Fedun. The businessman’s wife is currently a co-owner of the company, and the board of directors is headed by Valery Graifer.
Club purchase
In 2003, Leonid Fedun acquired FC Spartak. A controlling stake was sold to him by Andrey Chervichenko (former club president). Fedun invested not only personal funds in the most titled team of the Russian Federation. The businessman attracted major sponsors to this. And it brought results. A year later, the club’s budget reached $ 40 million. The funds received brought Spartak out of a deep crisis. Not only issues of financial support for coaches and athletes were resolved, but prerequisites were created for the formation of an effective football structure on the basis of the club.
According to the results of 2005, FC Spartak took the second line of the rating in the championship of Russia. Thus, the team gained the right to qualify for the Champions League.
In 2006, the construction of the Otkritie-Arena stadium began in Tushino. The sports complex totaled 45 thousand places. The opening match took place in early September 2014. The hero of this article still owns FC Spartak.
Personal life and family
Leonid Fedun, whose biography is presented above, is married. The entrepreneur’s wife is Marina. Together with her husband, she runs LUKOIL. Son Anton heads the London Ampersand Hotel. Daughter Ekaterina lives in the capital of England and works at the Bacchus PR agency. She is married to Yukhan Geraskin (manager of FC Spartak).

Fedun’s personal fortune is $ 7.1 billion. In 2011, he took 23rd place in the ranking of 200 richest entrepreneurs in the Russian Federation, compiled by Forbes.
