Wolf hunting and its varieties

The attitude to the wolf at different times was also different. He was considered both a pest and a nurse of the forest. However, always this large beast aroused human concern. Unlike other animals, wolf hunting has never been banned.

Animals were always destroyed, and in the years when their numbers were too high, extermination was carried out at the state level using large round-ups. As a rule, the most favorable season for hunting is winter, when the wolf coat becomes thicker and brighter. Hunting for a wolf is complicated by the fact that this animal is unusually hardy and at the same time is afraid of a person, therefore it is very careful. However, this does not prevent people from hunting with prey. This has been the case at all times. With the advent of firearms, the development of technology, much has changed, but the traditional methods of hunting wolves basically remain unchanged, although each region uses its own methods.

At a time when the number of predators was very large, raids and the use of red flags were popular. However, the color can be anything - the beast does not distinguish colors. The fact is that a human smell comes from shreds of fabric, they violate the usual picture of a winter forest, and therefore a wary wolf will never run in their direction, anticipating danger. Hunting a wolf with flags begins with laying out the carrion near the wolf den. Such a bait is able to keep predators in one place, to lull their vigilance. The beaters scream and frighten a well-fed flock, forcing her to flee. At the same time, there are beaters at the back, and flags at the sides. Therefore, wolves can run only in one direction - towards the shooters. Roundups were ubiquitous.

wolf hunting in Kazakhstan

One of the oldest ways is hunting a wolf with dogs. Moreover, either likes or greyhounds are used in such an activity. Each of the subspecies has its own characteristics. Previously, greyhounds were specially trained on wolves, so that during the hunt the dog was able to engage in battle with the predator and win. Nowadays, everything happens a little bit wrong. A pack of dogs must break the pack, drive predators to the hunters, without engaging in a fight with them, but only holding them, bringing them to the distance of the shot. This type of hunting is used by many athletes throughout Russia.

The role of huskies in hunting is different - they must strangle wolf cubs and fight weaker young animals, after hunters expel the adult generation from the hole.

Fun with the aristocracy was considered hunting with a golden eagle. Now such a wolf hunt is widespread in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. A trained bird sees a wolf from a long distance. She rushes to him and begins to tear the claws of the predator's head and back with its claws. The hunters can only finish off the wounded beast.

The wolf hunt with the use of traps does not cause special difficulties for connoisseurs. But, of course, it has its own characteristics. Firstly, the trap must be carefully processed before use, free from the smell of metal, factory lubrication, human hands. To do this, you need not only to wash it, but it is also better to boil or insist with coniferous branches or steppe herbs. And secondly, it must be very carefully masked so that the cautious animal does not notice the catch. After all, a cautious beast can easily smell foreign smells and notice other people's tracks.
