Biography
Dauren Kurugliev was born on July 12, 1992 in the city of Derbent, in the Republic of Dagestan. In his family, everything, like himself, is Lezgi by nationality. From an early age, Dauren began to show interest in martial arts, took the example from his nephew - winner of the bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships Magomed Kurugliev. Dauren was named after the coach who coached Magomed's nephew - Dauren Atamkulov. The guy was very active and energetic, so any physical activity and training seemed difficult for him. Among his peers, Dauren was distinguished by physical strength and wrestling intelligence. Participating in various tournaments of city and national scale, Kurugliev won many medals.
Dauren Kurugliev is a pupil of the Dynamo sports school in Makhachkala. His first coach was Imanmurza Aliyev, who instilled in the guy a fighting spirit and raised a universal fighter from him. Kurugliev's professional sports career began in 2010.

In 2016, Dauren graduated from the Chuvash State Pedagogical University named after Ivan Yakovlevich Yakovlev, Faculty of Physical Culture. In the same year, Kurugliev became the Master of Sports of the Russian Federation of international class.
In the spring of 2017, Dauren Kurugliev became the European champion in Novi Sad (Serbia) in the category up to 86 kilograms. In the final confrontation, the Lezgin wrestler met with Ossetian Alexander Gostiev. Dauren overcame his opponent in all categories - score 6: 0. During the fight, Kurogliyev started to bleed from the nose, as a result of which the judges went to stop the fight, since the bleeding could not stop for almost three minutes. The fact is that in freestyle wrestling it is allowed to provide medical assistance to wrestlers during a duel for three minutes. If during this time the problem has not been resolved, then the battle is stopped and the wrestler is awarded a defeat.
