As it is easy to understand, the word "boy" came from his sister "boy." In turn, the word "boy" was transformed from the Hebrew word "Pottsen." Potents called unpleasant, slippery young people under the age of 25 years. Soon this word migrated to the criminal world, where it lost its negative meaning. Boys just began to call young people under 25 years old. Nobody thought about who this kid is. As always, the criminal word has migrated to semi-criminal street youth, acquiring even some “respectful” meaning. Bad, unreliable guy is not called a kid.
The meaning of the word "little girl" is slightly different from the above, since in female circles the hierarchy is not very pronounced.
Who is this kid?
- A girl who, unlike her peers, does not like to spend time at traditionally girlish games, but prefers the company of boys in the yard. In this sense, the word does not have any criminal meaning: even her relatives can call a girl a kid. A girl older than 16-17 years old does not dare to call the tongue a kid, so most often the term is used in relation to girls 8-13 years old.
- "Boy" in the meaning of "boy girl." A girl who is in a relationship with a "boy." Often the concept is used to “tie” a girl to herself and carries a certain derogatory attitude to her passion, but sometimes girls are proud of this and call themselves boys themselves, demonstrating what kind of young man they have.
- A girl who adheres to a male style in clothes, wearing a short haircut, etc. If a girl is an adult, she herself has the right to choose her own style, and the term "boy" is inappropriate for her. Purses are called girls spending time in a male company and having male hobbies. You should distinguish between this and the first meaning, despite the fact that they are very similar: in the first case, even relatives can call a girl a kid, and this does not bear any derogatory context, in the third case, in a decent society, a girl is not called a kid.
Attitude to boys
Who is this kid: ordinary girl or "guy" in a female form? Obviously, girls with male interests are ordinary girls, and equating them with “peasants,” as some do, is extremely incorrect. In the XXI century, a girl does not have to be feminine in appearance in order to remain a real lady: there are girls who wear ultra-short haircuts and simple men's clothes, but surpass the level of education, erudition and femininity of their girlfriends in dresses.
