Most of the users, with the exception of a small circle of specialists, do not know how to open the epf format. It is not surprising, because these extensions are used by programs rarely found on the home computer. Moreover, there are several different applications working with such files. About them and will be discussed below.
"1C: Enterprise"
The first and most popular program that works with epf is 1C: Enterprise. It provides the ability to directly import Excel tables using a special tool that creates files with this extension.
Before you open the epf format, you will need to install the “1C” application, and then do the following:
- Run the program and go to the "File" menu.
- Click "Open" and specify the path to the document.
- Confirm your actions by clicking Yes.
- A window will open in front of you, in which you can view and also make changes to the file with the epf extension.
Please note that the 1C: Enterprise application is distributed for a fee. Perhaps you better not spend money on the program, but open the file on the computer on which it is installed.
Eagle
The second program, called EAGLE, is much less common than 1C: Enterprise. It is designed to create a design of printed circuit boards and, as you might guess, it is unlikely that an ordinary user may need it. To open a file with the epf extension in EAGLE, you need:
- Download the program and install it.
- Open the “Directories” tab and write in the line “Projects” the path to the folder containing the file in epf format.
- Click “OK” and wait until the program loads all the necessary data.
Now you can edit the open epf file, but it’s better not to do this without the proper skills.
Possible problems
If you tried both of the above methods, but could not open the file with the epf extension, then there is a high probability that its integrity was violated. For example, a document could be corrupted when archiving or downloading.
In addition, an inexperienced user could manually set the file to epf format . This happens quite often during a change in the name of a document, provided that the display of extensions for registered file types is enabled in the operating system settings.
Another option is to damage the document with malware. Therefore, before you open the epf file, it is advisable to check it for viruses. Since not so long ago a trojan disguised itself in this format, which managed to hit a lot of office computers in the CIS countries, so it is better to be careful.
