The foundation and beginning of the story
“Atletico Mineiro” cannot be called a young club, since it was founded in 1908. The first achievement of his players falls on 1915. Then the club managed to win its first official state championship. In the 20s and 30s of the last century, the team was very successful, and its leaders were such athletes as Jairo, Mario de Castro and Said. These players managed to score incredible goals. “Athletic Mineiro” went through many difficulties. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the XXI century the club lost ground and the team’s results deteriorated significantly. And it touched all directions. Moreover, in 2004 the team almost left the Brazilian Serie A! Then they managed to maintain their position, but not for long - in 2005 this still happened.
In 2006, FC “Atletico Mineiro” performed well in Serie B. A few months were enough for the team to kind of rehabilitation in the lower division. And in 2006, the club returned to the elite. Many believe that this period turned out to be one of the worst in history for FC. But he brought certain results, since in 2013 the team achieved incredible international success. “Atletico Mineiro”, the composition of which at that time was quite powerful, won the Copa Libertadores. This was a truly worthwhile achievement. After that, the team ratings have grown significantly. According to statistics, about four million people are ill for this club (data at the beginning of the current decade).
Achievements
This team has a lot of achievements. Once the club “Atletico Mineiro” became the champion of Brazil: this was in 1971. Once he managed to win the Cup of the country. This, by the way, was the year before last, 2014. As many as 42 times the club became the winner in the Mineiro League, twice won the CONMEBOL Cup. And in addition to a grand victory in the Libertadores Cup in 2013, a year later, the team became the winner of the South American Recopa.
