Milan Baroš - Czech attack star

Milan Baros was born on October 29, 1981 in the Czech Republic, and from a very early age it was already clear that he would achieve success in football. Already at the age of six, he began attending the football academy of a local club, at ten he went to a more advanced academy, and at twelve he ended up in another city, at the academy of the famous Banik club from Ostrava. It is with this team that the first years of a talented striker will be associated.

Most likely, you have already heard about who Milan Baroche is. Many may even have found his game (although he still plays to this day, he is already far from that level). But if not, then this article is for you. Here you will find out what career this Czech footballer has made, one of the few representatives of his country to win the Champions League trophy. It should be noted right away that he belongs to the golden generation of Czechs who, at the European Championships, could seriously fight for medals. Unfortunately, now the Czech team is already far from such results, and the last player from that era and still playing for the team is goalkeeper Petr Cech. But now it's not about him.

Carier start

So, Milon Baroš began his professional career in the aforementioned Banik club from the city of Ostrava - he played for him from 1998, when he was called up to the main team from the youth, and until 2002. During this time, the young talent managed to show himself from the best side: he spent 76 matches, although he was extremely young, and scored 23 goals. Naturally, such a bright talent could not fail to attract the attention of the leading clubs in Europe. Everyone understood that “Banik” is just a starting club for the jump of a great football genius. And in the winter of 2002, the 20-year-old striker received offers from various clubs, but most of all he was attracted to the English Liverpool, with whom he decided to connect his career. So began the rise of the Czech striker. As a result, Milan Baroche became the hero of his country.

Career at Liverpool

In 2002, Liverpool laid out seven million euros for a 20-year-old footballer - an impressive amount at that time for a player who had so far not shown anything at the highest level. But Liverpool didn’t lose - the footballer Baroš Milan began to show very high-quality football, although he did not immediately gain a foothold at the base of the club. In total, the Czech spent 68 matches for Liverpool, in which he scored 19 goals - far from the most impressive statistics. And although Barosh greatly helped his club in winning trophies, he was forced to leave the team after three and a half years. The 24-year-old striker, who at that time was one of the promising talents, was bought out by Aston Villa for nine million euros from Liverpool. Baroš Milan, whose biography was just beginning, went down, and this, unfortunately, did not have the best influence on his future career.

Short term at Aston Villa

In the new club, Milan Baroche, a striker with a big name, lingered for a while. He spent only a year and a half at Aston Villa. In the winter of 2007, after 42 matches and only nine goals, the club management decided to get rid of the player. And there were volunteers - the French "Lyon" agreed to sign a contract with a Czech footballer, but decided not to pay money for him, but to exchange it for his striker John Carew. So Baroche moved to France.

Complete failure

However, this transfer turned out to be one of the worst in the history of Lyon - for the year, Baroche showed practically nothing, scoring only seven goals. Naturally, this did not suit the leadership of the club, which decided to send the Czech for rent back to England, this time to Portsmouth.

Rent at Portsmouth

But even this did not help - Milan spent six months in this English club, but during this time he entered the field only twelve times. And not once struck the gates of the enemy. Naturally, Portsmouth did not want to redeem the rights to a football player. Especially considering the fact that Lyon asked for at least five million euros for it. The club wanted to at least somehow justify the fact that John Carew left the club in fact just like that, giving nothing in return.

The heyday of Galatasaray

Barosh’s career all this time did not develop in the best way, and from a talented young striker he turned into mediocrity, and at the same time not his first youth. Indeed, in “Portsmouth” the player is already 27 years old. Fortunately for Lyon and Baros, there was a club from Turkey who wanted to pay the required five million euros for a Czech striker. It was a Galatasaray. And it was here that Baroche was able to open up in ways that he did not even open in Liverpool. In Turkey, the Czech spent a happy four and a half years, during which he played 93 matches and scored 48 goals - that’s how Baroš’s talent was revealed at the end of his career. At the end of 2012, when the footballer was already 31 years old, the club’s head coach honestly told him that he no longer needed his services, and in the winter of 2013, Milan moved to his native club “Banik” in the status of a free agent.

Sunset career

After returning to his home club, Milan played only 12 matches, scoring five goals in them, three of which in one match. But already in the summer of that year, Barosh decided to return to Turkey: he was invited by the Antalyaspor club. However, things went wrong there: for half a year, Milan played only 13 matches and scored two goals, which is why the contract with him was terminated prematurely. After a seven-month break, Barosh in September 2014, for the third time in his career, signed a one-year contract with Banik, played 11 matches there and scored two more goals. And after the contract, he moved to another Czech club - “Mladu” from Boleslav. There he played 21 matches over the past season, scoring six goals, and he has a whole year of the current contract.
