What is MSDN? Microsoft Developer Network - a division of the IT company Microsoft, responsible for managing the relationship of the company with programmers and testers (developers of software and hardware that fits different OS platforms and uses API or scripting languages of Microsoft application). Relationship management is located in a variety of environments: websites, newsletters, developer conferences, trade media, blogs, and DVD distribution.
What is MSDN?
The primary MSDN web presence on the msdn.microsoft.com web resource is a collection of sites for the developer community that provide information, documentation, and discussion that were created both by Microsoft and the community as a whole. The company recently focused on creating forums, blogs, library annotations, and social bookmarking to make MSDN an open platform for dialogue with the development community, rather than a one-way service. The main website and most of its component applications are available in 56 languages.
MSDN library - what is it?
The official technical content library is intended for Microsoft Windows developers . The resource documents the APIs that come with Microsoft products and also contains sample code, technical articles, and other programming information. Available for free on the Internet and on CDs and DVDs for paid subscribers.
The version of Visual Studio Express only integrates with the MSDN Express library, which is a subset of the complete library.
Visual Studio Integration and Forums
Each edition of the MSDN library can only be accessed with one help viewer, which is integrated with the current version of Visual Studio.
MSDN Forums - What is it? These are web forums used by the community to discuss a wide range of topics for software development. The forums were ported to a completely new platform during 2008, which provided new features designed to increase efficiency, such as integrated thread preview, AJAX filtering, and a slide message editor.

MSDN Blogs are a series of Microsoft blogs hosted under the domain name blogs.msdn.com. Some blogs focus on products or their versions:

Social Bookmarking
Many users wonder: "MSDN - what is this folder?" Social bookmarking on MSDN Social was first launched in 2008, built on a new web platform that has custom labeling and channels at its core. The purpose of the social bookmarking application is to provide a method by which members of the developer community can contribute to the database of quality links on any topic from across the Web.
Filtering one or more tags (for example, .net and database) allows users to:
- Find popular or recent links and subscribe to the channel of these links.
- Find and follow the sites recommended by experts. Each profile page includes a user’s tab feed. Users can be found in the drop-down menu of each bookmark.
- Demonstrate your experience through the links displayed in the user profile.
- Keep your favorite links online.
The initial version of the application provides standard features for the genre, including bookmarklet and import capabilities. The MSDN website is also starting to include social bookmarking channels from experts and the community, which are displayed along with channels from relevant bloggers.
