Principle of operation
Developed by Valve, the VAC system is designed to serve to ensure a comfortable game for all gamers. It does not allow the use of codes, cheats, third-party programs and add-ons for certain applications, thus putting all players on an equal footing.
Since VAC works only in conjunction with Steam, its protection extends exclusively to official servers. That is, if your computer is blocked by a VAC system, you can still play on pirate servers.
How does protection work? When the game starts, the module of this system is loaded into the computer’s memory and continuously monitors that no extraneous process interferes with the program. Thus, if you try to connect any additional module that is not part of the running game, the VAC system will remember you the game, your account and login. It must be remembered that blocking does not happen instantly, therefore, if you tried to use the codes once and just kicked you out of the game, then you will be banned from a week to 2 months, and access will remain only to unprotected and pirated servers.

Reboot the PC. If that doesn’t help, try restoring the Steam Service. To do this, go to the folder with the installed Steam and copy the entire path to SteamService.exe. Paste what you copied into the command line and add / repair. Restart your computer again and run Steam.
Avoiding problems
If your computer is blocked by a VAC system, then the solution is very simple - do not use codes, cheats, add-ons. You are no different from other players, and realize your own superiority and amuse yourself in life. So you can achieve much more than just a few kills in a computer toy.
If you are still blocked, remember that this is done not with the computer, but with the account. You can just swap it. It is not so valuable to be killed for its loss.

There are some features that you need to know about if you suddenly decide to try to trick the defense and use cheats. VAC blocks only the game in which the use of cheat was noticed. That is, you can still use your account, but in other projects. There are some exceptions to everything else:
- If the use of codes and cheats was detected on one of the games that use the GoldSource engine, then absolutely all games on it are blocked.
- The same situation is with the chain of toys whose predecessors (first parts) worked for GoldSource.
