Salvatore Bocchetti was born in Naples in 1986, but did not play for the main team of his hometown. He began his career as a soccer player in games for the children's team, who played in the championship of the district. At 13, he successfully entered the Ascoli school. Here he spent four years, after which he began to take part in games as part of the club’s youth team.
In 2005, Salvatore Bocchetti was leased to the Virtus Lanciano football club, performing in the Italian C1 series. In 2006, a Naples native returned to Ascoli, for which he spent a couple of matches in Serie A. However, the club leaders did not rely on the young player and in 2007 they leased him again, this time at Frosinone, which he subsequently bought defender transfer.
It was Frosinone that became the springboard for the ambitious defender from southern Italy. The confident play of the young guy attracted attention from the serious clubs of the main Italian league. In 2008, he became a Genoa player who played well in Serie A.
Here Salvatore Bocchetti soon became a base player, making a trio of central defenders along with Biava and Ferrari. Over the years, he has become an excellent central defense player and has attracted the attention of many foreign clubs.
