The German defensive midfielder Christoph Kramer in his youth did not differ in great talent, so few expected anything outstanding from him. Kristof Kramer was born on February 19, 1991 in Germany and already at the age of four ended up at the Grearth Football Academy. For four years he played football there until he was noticed by scouts from the youth of one of the strongest clubs in Germany - Bayer. There he spent the whole seven years until he was sent to another sports school at the lesser-known club - the Düsseldorf Fortune. Two years later, he returned to Lekerkusen and in 2009 signed a professional contract with the club. However, no one saw much talent in the player, so Christoph Kramer did not even get a chance in the main team: he was credited to the double, where he did not even immediately gain a place in the base. Only in the second season he began to play quite often, having played in 26 matches.
Rent in Bochum
In 2011, Bayer management decided that 20-year-old Christoph Kramer is a football player who needs to open up. As a result, he went immediately for two years on loan to Bochum, where he performed quite successfully. For two seasons, he appeared on the field 67 times, scoring four goals. When Kramer returned to Leverkusen, the bosses were still not satisfied, so they sent the midfielder for another two years for rent: this time to a club of a higher level, the Mönchengladbach Borussia.
Rent in Borussia
It was here that Kramer revealed himself completely: in two years he played in 73 matches, scoring five goals. He impressed absolutely everyone, including the coach of the German national team Joachim Lev. Borussia wanted to buy the player right after the lease ended, but Bayer decided that he needed Christophe too.
Return to Bayer, and then to Borussia
The next season, Kramer spent in Bayer, playing in 42 matches, but he no longer made the impression that was last season. Therefore, the Bayer management decided that it was better to let Christoph go to Borussia, where they were still waiting for him. The Mönchengladbach club paid fifteen million euros for the opornik, and this season Kramer has already played 11 matches for Borussia, giving away two assists.
Team appearances
For the first time, Kramer was called up to the German national team in July 2014 after a successful season at Borussia. He made his debut in a friendly match against Poland. From that moment on, he played in eleven games, three of which were at the 2014 World Cup. The last time Kramer was called up to the national team in March 2016, then he played only a couple of minutes in a friendly match against the Italian national team.
