On the shore of Gusinoye Lake in the Zagustayskaya Valley there is a thermal station built according to the condenser type. This is the Gusinoozerskaya state district power station. Buryatia, located east of Lake Baikal, is famous for its resource-extracting industries, as well as related primary processing capacities .
Large fuel and energy complex
The wealth of Buryat natural resources, combined with the harsh climatic zone due to the sharply continental climate, was the reason for the decision to build a power station in one hundred and ten kilometers from Ulan-Ude. And today, the Gusinoozerskaya State District Power Plant, located four kilometers from the second largest city in the republic, is one of the main enterprises in the region. The housing estate of the same name has become a place for its construction on the basis of a coal mine. The design assignment, according to which the Gusinoozerskaya state district power station was created, was developed by the Tomsk branch of Teploelektroproekt. It is interesting that while agreement was being reached on a feasibility study, some decisions were outdated, and the USSR State Planning Committee had to send them for processing.
Station launch
The first power unit was launched at the end of December 1976. The main task that the Gusinoozerskaya state district power station has undertaken is to meet the needs of the power system of the Republic of Buryatia, which is part of the combined industry of the whole Transbaikalia. The next three were put into operation each subsequent year. The second phase of the station began to be launched in 1988, with the commissioning of the fifth main station power unit. Four years later, the sixth entered work, and the construction of the seventh was scheduled to begin at the same time, in 2005, to put into operation. However, the resulting financial problems did not allow to realize the plans. At the moment, construction is frozen. Over the years, the quality of coal at the Kholboldzhinsky opencast mine began to deteriorate; its ash content reached thirty percent. Therefore, the management decided to reconstruct the boiler units of the first stage of the station and transfer them to dry slag removal.
The process started from the second power unit. Then, reconstruction work began to be carried out in the fourth, but due to a lack of funds, changes in the structure of the fuel used were suspended. And after some time, the block itself was also mothballed. Since its launch, the Gusinoozerskaya GRES has been generating more than four and a half billion kW / h of electricity annually. However, due to the sharp deterioration in many qualitative characteristics of coal, as well as financial and technical and economic indicators of the Kholboldzhinsky open pit, it had to be closed, and at the Gusinoozerskaya state district power station they were forced to look for new suppliers for fuel. Today it is the Tugnui mines.
Equipment
Gusinoozerskaya state district power station works today on the equipment of the German company Claudius Peters Group. It allows at least thirty percent reduction in annual storage. Another advantage of this technology is the possibility of recycling ash and slag waste in the production process of various building materials. This area is today recognized as the most promising, since dry ash produced by power plants has a number of advantages, in contrast to traditional natural resources. It is curious that the second chimney of the Gusinoozerskaya state district power station has a height of 330 meters. She is one of the twenty-five highest trumpets of the whole world.
Prospects
The installed capacity of this Buryat power plant is more than one thousand one hundred megawatts. For this region, this is a reduction in energy costs, an improvement in the quality of construction, and, ultimately, the emergence of very real prerequisites for implementing very many social programs. And all this is provided by the Gusinoozerskaya state district power station. OGK-3 OJSC, of which it is a branch, is the third generation company in the wholesale electricity market. Today, the company employs more than a thousand people, sixty percent of whom have higher technical education.
