Islam Timurziev was born on January 9, 1983 in the city of Nazran, in the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
Life and youth
According to the recollections of parents, Islam was always a calm child, and he became interested in boxing only at the age of twelve, and that was only because there were no other sections in the city. From the first lessons, the trainers noticed that Islam stands out from the rest of the guys with good technique and performance. The first coach of Timurziev was Bashir Evolev, who did a lot for him, as the fighter himself often noted.
At the age of 16, the young boxer is sent to his first major tournament. This competition was the beginning of the professional sports career of Islam Timurziev.
Early career
In 1999, the guy won the European Championship, which was attended by cadets. The next few years, the athlete trained hard and participated in less significant competitions. However, already in 2001, Islam Timurziev, at the age of 18, was going to the European Championship among youths. At that championship, few expected major results from the Russian boxer, but, contrary to all forecasts, he won. In the same year 2001, the young boxer will win another award - the status of the champion of Russia among his peers. In 2003, Islam again won the competition, where the military opposed each other. In the same year he took third place at the Russian Championship among adults. Timurziev at that time was only 20 years old, and he was prophesied a great future in sports. In 2004, the heavyweight will summarize under his early career and win the Russian Championship. Such successes seemed incredible to the 21-year-old fighter. To the honor of the boxer, he did not stop there, but continued to develop and move forward.
Late career

However, everything changed at the moment when it turned out that the boxer was sick. He had a non-malignant tumor in his brain.
Disease control
The athlete had to leave the sport for a while in order to completely get rid of health problems. Almost a year, Islam Timurziev was treated. The disease was eventually overcome. At that time, in 2005, the athlete really recovered and returned to the ring. However, as it becomes clear a few years later, the disease will make itself felt.
Return to the ring
After a short period of absence, Islam Timurziev returned to the ring and qualified for the European Championship in Bulgaria. Since the fighter recently recovered from his illness, few believed that he would really be able to claim prizes. However, boxer Islam Timurziev himself and his team thought completely differently. As it became clear at the very beginning of the tournament, the fighter was in good shape. In the end, Islam will win this tournament, which will be one of the most memorable in his career.
