In the center of the most beautiful city of Moscow, in the historical district called Zamoskvorechye, back in the 19th century, Russian merchants, brothers Pavel and Sergei Tretyakov, opened the famous art gallery.
And to this day, to visit the Tretyakov Gallery is considered by everyone to be at least once visited the capital of the Russian Federation.
And on the territory of the gallery there is a cozy restaurant “The Tretyakov Brothers”, which gladly accepts every visitor who has come to admire amazing paintings or who has just stopped by to taste the dishes of the finest author's, Russian cuisine.
History
The gallery (then still private) was founded in 1856 by Pavel Tretyakov, a successful third-generation merchant, a scientist by nature, a true connoisseur of Russian painting. But from a young age, his obsession, the main dream was to organize a museum of painting in Russia, thereby contributing to the culture of his homeland.
According to historical data, he possessed incredible intuition regarding the talents of young artists, a sensitive eye. I bought the work of little-known painters, who after a while gained widest popularity.
And so, the great collector became the owner of one of the world's largest treasuries of Russian fine art. As well as several works by long-standing Dutch artists and other foreign painters.
And in 1867, in the Zamoskvorechye, in Lavrushinsky Lane - in the very center of the capital, the Moscow City Gallery of Pavel and Sergei Tretyakov was built and officially opened for a wide audience of true connoisseurs of painting. Where is it located to this day?
Restaurant Information
The museum also opened (already in the current era) a cozy restaurant, named in honor of Pavel and Sergey, - the Tretyakov Brothers restaurant. It can be visited after or before viewing gallery expositions.
This place is also very picturesque in its interior: spacious and bright rooms with ceilings in the form of an arched vault, a porch with lots of greenery.
You can enter the restaurant both from the street and from the gallery. The first hall of the institution is the largest in area, there is a bar in it. The second and third are smaller. The walls and ceilings are painted with exquisite patterns, which creates an unusual atmosphere in the institution. Also, many lamps and chandeliers decorated "antique", as if dipped in the era of the XIX century, and at the same time make the space brighter, airier, wider.
The institution plays background music. There is a separate room for children.
Near the restaurant there is an excellent pedestrian area of the city with access to the Embankment. There is a temple, as well as a courtyard through which you can enter the museum.
