Kettelnaya machine is equipment used to combine extreme open loops on parts of knitwear (socks, stockings and others). The process of joining loops is called looping. This method of stitching parts is more practical and aesthetic compared to a seam made by hand.
Principle of operation
To fasten the edges of the product, the kettel machine is equipped with a needle conveyor (the so-called texture). On the conveyor needles (tokens) put on the edges of the connected parts (one loop per one tokol). The needle performs reciprocating movements along the grooves of the tokols of the texture. Getting into the loops, the needle passes a thread through them, which connects the edges of the knitted parts.
Kettel equipment classification
In accordance with the number of threads that are involved in the formation of loops, kettel machines are:
- One-thread. They are used to process the edges of knitwear upper products (processing collars, flanges, pockets) and sewn parts of hosiery.
- Two-thread. They are used for stitching stockings, socks, tights and so on.
- Three-strand. Edging parts to prevent them from blooming.
The seams made by kettel machines should be invisible and flexible. This is achieved by the correct selection of cattel equipment, which should correspond to the class of the knitting machine. The easiest way to choose is to match the density of the knitwear. To do this, count the number of loop rows per unit length. Their quantity will correspond to the class of kettel machine.
More often, looping (that is, working on a looper machine) is performed on equipment whose class is higher than the class of the knitting machine used. This is due to the fact that the fiber removed from the knitting equipment is subject to some shrinkage, and for easy putting on the loops on the totel of the kettel machine, the distance between the latter should be equal to the interval of the loop step. If this condition is not fulfilled, it is necessary to stretch the canvas or increase the gap between the tokens.
Kettelnaya machine is classified depending on the method of formation of stitches, the nature of the movement of the conveyor and the design of the main mechanism. In addition, the needles of these machines (straight, curved) and the movement of the texture (continuous, periodic) are different. Putting on hinges on tokols is done manually, and the machine makes automatic unification, trimming, cleaning and seam processing.

- Hague 280 H is a hand-held chain stitch machine that performs a single-stitch chain stitch, used to connect knitwear parts. CONTI COMPLETT Models Overview
- 99-K / DD. This model of a kettel machine connects knitted parts with chain double-thread stitches. Such a combination is beneficial both aesthetically and practically. In addition, all Conti Complett models use a special stitch formation system, which allows you to increase productivity to a maximum (up to fourteen hundred stitches per minute) even when working with such "heavy" raw materials as nylon, wool, lurex and others.
- Movements of the front are carried out clockwise, the needle is located outside the front, and the looper is inside. The diameter of the ring is eighteen inches (i.e. 460 mm). Possible class cars - from the third to twenty second.
Overview of RMS Models
Kettelny RMS PROKET machine is used for sewing knitted parts with one-thread or two-thread chain stitches. A possible class of car is from the third to the eighteenth. The fronture moves counterclockwise. The needle is located inside the front, and the looper is outside.
KMS Models
KMS 1420 is a cattel machine that provides elastic stitching with a productivity of one thousand two hundred stitches per minute. The connection of parts is carried out by a single-strand chain seam. It can be used for stitching products from any kind of knitwear.
