The current flagship confectionery was created by the hands of a peasant in 1804. A small enterprise produced fruit-based sweets, for which the founder Stepan received the name Abrikosov. The technical and quality breakthrough was made by Alexey Abrikosov (Stepan's grandson) who took over the management and ownership of the enterprise in 1850. The factory experienced another difficult period during the perestroika times of the collapse of the USSR. The general centralized supply system for state enterprises was destroyed, the former Union republics severed ties and contracts.
