A little about the benefits and specifics of the product

Boiled mackerel is the so-called base, and this semi-finished product can be used to prepare other dishes, in particular, delicious salads. And you can already eat, because this queen of the seas is unusually tasty and healthy. The content of a large number of animal proteins, which are perfectly absorbed, is its hallmark. Of course, there are drawbacks - where would they be without them. For example, in water, it easily absorbs heavy metals. It also has an increased content of omega-3 fats, which is not typical for diets. But you can correct this "drawback" as follows.

Boiled Mackerel. Diet recipe

To prepare a delicious fish, we need: a few fish, salt with sugar, a few parsley, lemon. If you have freshly frozen carcasses without heads (which is the most preferable), then you must first defrost them naturally, and not in hot water or in the microwave. It may take a longer time, but the taste will be excellent.

Simple cooking!

How is boiled mackerel prepared? The recipe is very simple - any housewife can handle it.

  1. We put in a large pan (to fit the carcasses) boil water. We free the prepared fish from the entrails (if there are any in the product purchased at the supermarket), you can immediately cut it into fairly large portioned portions.
  2. Into boiling water we introduce sugar and salt equally (about a large spoon of both ingredients per one and a half liters of water), bay leaf. Tip: if you limit the use of salt, you can enter it less, or even not add at all.
  3. We fasten the fire and put the mackerel in a container with boiled water, bring it to a boil again, cook for several minutes and turn it off. At the same time, excess fats will go into the broth (by the way, it can also be used additionally - do not pour it under any circumstances), and boiled mackerel will turn out to be completely dietary.
  4. The finished dish will become tastier if it is poured with lemon juice. The same procedure will facilitate the digestion of protein. And for a delicious fish, you can serve a side dish or salad.

Boiled mackerel. Cooking recipes

This cooking method is by no means, you guessed it, the only one. It can be done differently, but also very tasty. For example, a fish with spices, herbs, lemon and onions - you’ll just lick your fingers! We need: three carcasses of mackerel, one lemon, allspice peas, bay leaf, salt and a mixture of Italian herbs (you can take any).

How to make?

  1. First of all, we defrost carcasses. And it’s best to do it slowly, naturally: shift the fish from the freezer to the bottom of the refrigerator, let it thaw for several hours. For cooking we use only high-quality mackerel: without yellowness, dense.
  2. Having thawed the carcasses, we clean and cut off the heads, and then gut. It would be nice to trim the tail and fins, and then rinse thoroughly.
  3. How is boiled mackerel prepared? Recipes will amaze you with its simplicity. Remove the peel from the onion, leaving it all the same one lower layer (when cooking it will give a golden color). And each of the bulbs is further cut into several parts.
  4. We put onions in a pan, a lemon, also cut into pieces, a lavrushka, fill everything with water, bring to a boiling state. When it boils, add salt and peas of allspice (a handful), dried herbs. If the carcasses of fish are large, then you can cut them into pieces in portions. We send the mackerel to boiling water with seasonings, bring it to a boil again, then reduce the heat. Next, cook it until tender over low heat (about 10-15 minutes).
  5. Boiled mackerel is ready, we take it out of the broth, let it stream and serve in a hot (and possibly cold) form. By the way, the broth can be left for fish soup (fish soup). In appearance, such a fish may not look very presentable, but it is very tasty and healthy. And the dish will be complemented with tartar sauce or mayonnaise, served with boiled potatoes or rice with vegetables.

For a couple

How to steam boiled mackerel? Now an increasing number of people are disassociating themselves from fatty foods towards healthy eating. After all, the same mackerel could well be a complete replacement for animal proteins, bring the body many benefits as a storehouse of vitamins and minerals. However, such a high-calorie steamed fish is much more useful than a piece of fatty fried pork, because fish oil contains unsaturated acids, and the method of cooking with steam will retain all the beneficial qualities without reducing anything. To make a fish for a couple, you need a simple or electric double boiler. You can use a slow cooker (mode: "steaming"). And in extreme cases, you can use a pan with boiling water and a strainer (colander) installed on it to cook.

We take the same ingredients. And the preparatory work is left unchanged. Sprinkle carcasses with lemon juice and season with dried herbs. Basil and thyme with oregano will be good (a few pinches of the mixture will be enough). Next, prepare the prepared mackerel in a double boiler and cook for half an hour. Serve hot using a side dish of boiled steam vegetables. By the way, they can overlay carcasses during cooking.
