Very often, computer users decide to change their antivirus protection. This process does not always go smoothly enough. Including in those cases when Kaspersky Anti- Virus is installed on the PC. You are trying to install, for example, the Doctor Web program, but the device does not accept it, writes: “Delete the previous protective program.” And this is all because it was not just installed on the C drive, but deeply penetrated the entire operating system. Consider removing Kaspersky completely to avoid such problems.
Method One: Install and Use the Uninstall Tool
For those who do not want to worry about uninstalling their software, there is an Uninstall Tool. This utility is just for this. It allows you to extract all the remnants of previously installed software with roots.
Install it if you have not done it before. We start. We see before us a list of all the software available on the computer, as well as those programs that are not completely removed. We find the necessary one and begin the
removal of Kaspersky (completely). To do this, right-click on the antivirus and select “Uninstall”. After that, we start scanning the remaining files and delete them. At the same time, you can look at them (including find out the location) and decide whether to leave or not. Thus, the registry is also cleaned. Uninstall Tool is a very simple and easy to use utility. But if for any reason you do not want to install and use it, then there are other ways to remove protection.
Method Two: Standard Kaspersky Anti-Virus Removal
We go along the path “Start - Programs - Our antivirus - Change, delete or restore". Click, of course, on “Delete”. Continuing to follow the directions. Unfortunately, in this way, a complete removal of Kaspersky is not possible. Therefore, through the control panel, go to “Add or Remove Software”, find the anti-virus shortcut and uninstall it. But that is not all.
Using the standard system search, we enter, for example, the word “kav” and other phrases related to Kaspersky, find its remnants and delete them. Similarly, clean the registry. To do this, enter “regedit” in the search bar and enter it. Again, we enter in the search the words associated with the antivirus, we find its elements and delete them. We perform this procedure by pressing F3 until we clear the entire registry. Kaspersky uninstallation is fully completed. Now the new security program should install without problems.
Method Three: From the Antivirus Manufacturer
Every anti-virus company makes two
things: at the same time it creates small difficulties for uninstalling your software product (and suddenly change your mind and leave it) and releases, no matter how bitter, its own utility for uninstalling it. Kaspersky Lab in this case is no exception. On their website you can always find the latest version of Kavremover, which will perform the removal of Kaspersky Anti-Virus, including license information. You can find out about the products that this utility removes from your computer in the same place, on the company's website.
Download Kavremover, unzip, run and enter the security code in the special window. Select the required application from Kaspersky from the list offered to you and delete it. If you use several of them, then uninstall one by one. Try to completely remove Kaspersky using this utility only in the most extreme case - when the others have not found the antivirus at all, and you know for sure that it is installed. The procedure itself is very simple, maybe just not very fast.
