Every entrepreneur knows very well that registration of any form of activity is impossible without the use of OKVED - the all-Russian classifier of types of economic activity. What is it and in what cases should it be used? For example, you decide to open a retail business. In this case, when filling out an application for state registration of your company, you will need to indicate the codes that will correspond to your chosen type of activity, in particular, retail. It is in this case that you will need OKVED, which is part of a unified system of classification and coding of social and technical and economic information of the Russian Federation. It is in such a case, if retail trade is selected, OKVED offers a fairly wide list of activities related to it.
So, for example, if you choose retail trade in food products, OKVED can offer several types of activities, including retail trade in non-specialized stores with food, frozen or non-frozen products. So if your type of activity is retail, OKVED can offer quite a lot of different options.
And in the event that you have not yet decided for yourself what type of retail trade you will be engaged in, it is very useful to read the classifier. For example, if you decide that your type of activity is retail sale of clothing, OKVED offers you several of its types:
- trade in women's, men's and children's clothing,
- trade in underwear,
- trade in fur or leather products and much more.
Thus, the All-Russian classifier examines in detail all types of activities that an entrepreneur can engage in. And if you choose retail, OKVED offers rather large sections:
- retail trade carried out in non-specialized stores,
- retail trade in food products, carried out in specialized stores (this includes drinks and tobacco products),
- retail sale of pharmaceutical goods, which also include medical, cosmetic and perfumery goods.
In addition, if it is retail that is selected, OKVED also offers a section of other retail in specialized stores. You can use the retail trade of used goods, retail trade outside stores and even repair of household goods, as well as personal items.
Here is a fairly roomy list of all-Russian classifiers for those who decide to choose this type of trading activity as their type of activity. After all, each of these sections also has a lot of subsections. Thus, if you choose retail trade in products, OKVED offers seven more subsections, each of which can also be divided into other sections. And if you choose retail clothing, OKVED offers as many as eight subsections.
Every entrepreneur should know that when registering an enterprise, you can choose an unlimited number of codes for activities. But in fact, you may need from seven to ten species. But you should know that there are no restrictions on this subject in Russian law, and you are free to choose any number of codes.
In the event that in the process of your business activity you decide to add some other type of activity, then you can always do this in accordance with applicable law. But before you register the company, carefully study the OKVED, and then your further activities will become even more understandable to you.
