Gianluca Zambrotta was born February 19, 1977 in Italy, in the city of Como, where he began his professional career as a football player. As a child, he played for the youth team of the club of the same name, until in 1994 at the age of 17 he was not allowed to play in an adult team. He played just one match in Serie B, which was the only one of his career in this tournament. By the time of signing a professional contract with the player, the club flew into a lower league, but Gianluca Zambrotta continued to play for him. He spent two years there, playing 50 matches and scoring 6 goals, after which he was spotted by a club from the Premier League Bari, with which he signed a contract in 1997.
Flourishing at Bari

Naturally, he could not remain in such conditions at Bari: the strongest Italian team Juventus offered eight million euros per player, and in the summer of 1999 Gianluca joined the “old Signora”.
The game for Juventus
It was Juventus that became the real home for a player like Gianluca Zambrotta - a family, not just a club. Already in the first season he became a base player and won the Intertoto Cup. In total, he spent seven years at Juventus, having played 294 matches and scored 11 goals. During this time, two victories in the Italian Championship and two Italian Super Cups were added to the Intertoto Cup. Only in 2006, Zambrotta decided to change the club - he moved abroad, joining the Spanish “Barcelona”, who paid him 14 million euros.
Moving to Barcelona
Zambrotta spent only two years at Barcelona, having played 80 matches and scored three goals. During this time, the player got only one trophy - the Spanish Super Cup. However, it quickly became clear that this was not his club, so Gianluca decided to return to his homeland in 2008. The 31-year-old footballer, however, did not move to Juventus, with which almost his entire previous career was connected, but to Milan, which paid 10 and a half million euros for the setting star.
Return to Italy
Returning to his homeland, Zamyurotta again began to play at a fairly high level, remaining the main player for the first two seasons. In total, he spent four years in Milan until his contract expired. Gianluca added 102 matches and 2 goals to his account while he was in Milan, but the club did not renew the contract with an age player, so in the summer of 2012 the player was left without a club. He trained with his native “Como”, whose honorary president he became back in 2007, while he was awaiting offers from other clubs.

In 2013, Zambrotta began work on obtaining a coaching license, and in the summer he signed a contract with the Swiss club Chiasso, where he played the role of player and assistant coach. In autumn, the head coach was fired, so Gianluca became a playing coach and helped the team escape from relegation. In the summer of 2014, he completed his career as a football player and became a full-fledged coach of Chiasso, but he did not succeed and was fired in the spring of 2015. After a long break in the summer of 2016, he was appointed coach of the Indian club Delhi Dinamos. So far, he has led only 16 matches at the head of the team, of which only five ended in victory, and six with a draw.
