The research and production association “Lianozovsky Electromechanical Plant” is one of the leading Russian industrial enterprises engaged in the design and manufacture of radar equipment. LEMZ specializes in the production of control systems for monitoring airspace, air defense and air traffic control, as well as terminal and meteorological equipment.
Historical reference
The decision to build a new machine-building enterprise in the north of Moscow (in the Dmitrov highway) was made in the early 1930s. The plant was launched on 05/11/1935. Initially, wagons were made in its workshops and rolling stock was repaired for railway departments.
During the Second World War, here, not only serviced and remodeled passenger cars for the needs of the front, but also made ammunition. After the war, demand for radio and electrical products, especially military ones, increased. The production, located in the heart of the country's research cluster, was the best suited for deploying the assembly of radar systems and control centers for various purposes. In 1951, the company was reorganized into the Lianozovsky Electromechanical Plant (LEMZ), and a year later it mastered the manufacture of radar and radio links. Today the company is part of the Almaz-Antey concern.

NPO "Lianozovsky Electromechanical Plant" provides all types of services related to the production, delivery, installation and commissioning of equipment with subsequent support, including warranty and post-warranty service, training of customer personnel and the supply of spare parts. Additional services
LEMZ has an exhaustive package of licenses of the Russian and international standard for the design, production, repair and overhaul of aircraft, including military and dual-purpose equipment. In addition, specialists from the Lianozovsky Electromechanical Plant are modernizing old-style radars (P-18, P-37, PRV-16) in order to increase their operational characteristics and extend their service life. Air traffic control
For more than half a century, the Lianozovsky Electromechanical Plant has produced about 250 radar models. The plant’s radars are equipped with the Moscow air traffic control zone, the North Caucasian air traffic control center, the Kiev zone and almost every large and small airport in the CIS. There are stations in foreign countries.
LEMZ continues serial production of equipment for air traffic control, and also conducts new developments in this area. The plant successfully cooperates with the State Civil Aviation Service and with air navigation enterprises. Giving the factory the status of an official supplier of ICAO indicates the international recognition of its products.
Today, as part of long-term contracts with the State Civil Aviation Administration, the company implements the Program for Maintaining the Operational Reliability of ATC Means and Modernizes Outdated ORLTs to the Level of Lira-1 Radar. Along the way, the plant supplies Utes-Tm and Utes-A ultramodern, fully solid-state radar systems, Lira-T dual-purpose complexes for the Unified ATS system, and the Topaz-2000 automated airborne surveillance system. Among the new products of the enterprise are track radars of the Sopka-2 class on a stationary and mechanized basis.
