The calibrated circle is one of the types of rolled steel. For its manufacture, only carbon steel of the highest quality is used, which is smelted in a special way. For additional processing, cold drawing is used. As a result of this approach, the physical, plastic, as well as mechanical properties of steel are improved. In addition, surface characteristics are improved.
Depending on the purpose, the calibrated metal circle can be subjected to additional surface treatment, which results in a sanded or matte finish. A stainless product has a first class of degree of curvature, as well as a second class.
Steel calibrated wheel is available with medium, high and high precision machining. For their marking, the letters A, B and C are used, respectively.
A calibrated circle is produced in accordance with GOST 7417-75. It regulates the production of products whose circle diameter is from 3 to 100 mm. Circles up to 5 mm are produced, as a rule, in skeins. If the diameter is more than 5 mm, the products look like rods. For a calibrated circle, maximum deviations of diameter h11 are allowed.
Manufacturers at the request of the customer can make a circle with a diameter of 25 mm in the form of skeins. In addition, the buyer can order a calibrated circle with heat treatment.
Calibrated circles are divided by length into:
- products of measured length;
- products of unlimited length.
Different steel grades are used for the production of this metal product , for example: 40, 40x, 45, 10, 20, 35. A calibrated circle in the form of rods from 2 to 6.5 meters long is made of alloyed, low alloyed, automatic and high-quality carbon steel. High alloy steel is used with bar lengths from 1.5 to 6.5 meters. And with unmeasured length (not less than 1.5 m), high-quality carbon steel, alloyed and automatic, is used. Longer calibrated circles are made on special order.
The calibrated circle has found its application in various fields. The steel product is mainly used for reinforcing reinforced concrete. The calibrated circle made of low alloy steel, due to its resistance to adverse conditions, has become indispensable in the northern latitudes during construction. Also, in some cases, it is used to ground gas pipeline lines. Stainless rods, round discs (calibrated circles) are used in the automotive, aviation, shipbuilding, woodworking, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
Calibrated circles also gained their place in design and outdoor advertising. In addition, they are used for indoor processing.
Due to its high strength and wear resistance, the calibrated stainless circle is ideally suited for the production of a wide variety of parts that will be used under conditions of increased loads and high temperatures.
