There are cocktails in the culinary world that can be confidently called nationwide. Such is the "Ruff" - a highly respected drink, probably, throughout the post-Soviet space. Most likely, his formula was deduced by chance: like everything brilliant in nature, it is very simple and effective. What we are used to understanding by the word "Ruff" - a drink that includes beer and vodka - actually has several variations, which we will discuss in more detail in our today's article. And there everyone will have to decide for themselves: to try or not?

In the Soviet Union, vodka was not a priori served in beer stalls, either to prevent people from drinking too much, or for some other reason. Beer was sold weak and, often, already imperceptibly diluted - you will not especially get drunk. And after a shift with friends, many wanted to sit and have a drink. And then our brilliant people came up with “Ruff” - a truly truly simple and effective drink. A couple of sips of beer were drunk from a beer glass and imperceptibly from the saleswoman’s vigilant eyes, under the table, the shortage was filled with the same amount of “little white”. Then the mug returned to the table, and beer mixed with vodka was already sucked in slowly, slowly. The merchants had an economical habit: after the festive table to collect all the food that is undernourished in a pile. Although at present, nevertheless, this term is understood, rather, as a mixture of vodka and beer.

To make a nationwide cocktail, we need: a 0.5-liter mug of high-quality and dense beer, which has pronounced hop shades (this is necessary in order to completely drown out the vodka aftertaste and smell), about 50 grams of good and high-quality vodka. A stronger ingredient can be taken even more - for example, 70-100 grams - this dose is for extreme lovers. But then the taste of vodka will already be felt clearly. In addition, from one such drunk glass you can immediately get drunk, so it's better to stick to the traditional version.

The preparation is simple: drink a couple of sips from the glass (or pour it) and add vodka there. They drink a cocktail chilled - in the form of heat, the taste of vodka can "get out". Yes, and do not forget to keep the style, to serve “Ruff” as a snack a “rusty” fish, such that you can knock on the table, and a newspaper for storing scales and bones. Then everything will be rank by rank. Well, but seriously, the "Ruff" is recommended to drink in big sips, almost in one gulp. You can sprinkle the edges of the cup with large crystals of salt: it tastes better. And look, don't get carried away. We fill the vacated space as a result with vodka (it is better to use chilled beer and strong alcohol). After - after some time - we still drink the mixture from the container and again add vodka (we repeat the procedure until the drink in the mug is completely clarified). Thus, the brown bear turns into a white. When the liquid in the mug acquires an almost transparent color, we begin to add beer and drink it again in a sip. Connoisseurs of feasts say: there are many who have met a white bear in this way, but only the most persistent and strong ones are able to meet again brown (that is, when the color of the liquid in the mug again turns into a beer, yellowish-brown).

Drink "Ruff" can be prepared (and most importantly - to drink) and using a different technology. In a faceted ordinary glass we pour 50 grams of beer (in the original - “Zhigulevskoe”). There we also introduce 100 grams of vodka. On top of the faceted container you need to cover with a napkin or towel (as an option, use a clean palm). Clutching the top firmly with your palm so that the liquid does not leak, turn the glass over and hit the knee well. Then again, we turn over and drink the contents as soon as possible (while the mass foams and hisses as a result of the strike) in one gulp.
